But seriously, here's what NASA rules say...
Battery
The battery should be securely fastened to the car. No Bungee cords or rubber cords may be used to function as the sole hold down mechanism. An electrically non-conductive material must cover the positive battery terminal. Any battery located inside the driver’s compartment shall be fully covered and firmly secured to the chassis in a marine type battery case. True dry cell and AGM type batteries may be mounted without a surrounding case
I chose the passenger side bin since it's low, near the center of the vehicle, and most importantly the passenger side needs some more weight than driver side (my previous FD corner balance results was proof of this with battery behind driver). And if anyone was wondering I used 4 3/8" grade 8 bolts spaced up with 1 inch wide spacers with 1 inch wide washers from bottom to sandwich the chassis. It's solid.
battery install is clean. I may have to copy that idea. I've been thinking of making a battery tray that sits level to mount the battery in the same location.
everything is coming along nicely. makes me wanna get a cage installed while it's still bare inside.

Started bending my brake lines... Finished the fronts so far. I wasn't looking forward to this but I think it came out pretty clean. Lines I used are the pre-made ones from part store in various lengths. Clips oem Mazda. Brake booster powder coated black and vaccum nipple chopped and -6AN welded instead.

Metric splitter mounted on firewall with rivnut... This part was hard to find.

Decided to go under the wiper motor...

Being back on the forum after a 3 year absence it'a really great catching up looking at all the amazing builds that have been taking place. This car looks like if will be a fantastic track car when you get it completed. The cage looks awesome! I'm working on one in my jeep right now so I can appreciate. You me me mentioned the color scheme reminding you of a shark. You should paint her up with a WWiI shark plane paint scheme.
