My RX7/Rotary projects... formerly My Blk base build up..
I've been lurking here silently for a while. I have to say the latest creation is the most unique car I've seen on the forum. Great vision, props for putting it together!
About the paint, is it stock SSM?

Paint is AMG Imola Grey Metallic, BASF Glasurit®.... and painted by world class painter, Jonathan Goolsby @ Goolsby Customs - Custom cars and collision.
I'm bias but its by far one of the best paint job I have seen on an FD or any import

Personally, I think it would look better the way it is.
If you recess it then you have to worry about the contour of the gauge cluster surround being the same as the contour of the cluster. I am in the middle of fitting a racepak iq3 into my cluster. Luckily the IQ3 cluster is already contoured so it looks ok recessed.
IMO, the cluster just looks empty. There is so much empty space around the cluster that it looks out of place.
Do you have any pics of the back of the cluster showing how it was mounted?

damn, i would go to DGRR just to see this car...truly inspirational. As a matter of fact, it was your build that inspired me to get another FD after i sold my 1st FD 6 years ago. Like you, i'm hoping that my car/build will be a no compromise build...although i'm not nearly as ambitious as you are.
Car still continues to look great Phil! All of them do for that matter! Since I just picked up this Red one you always see me in I will be sure to stay in touch! Probably have a few spare parts I might need!

Thanks for the kind words..
Few more updated photos of the MB..
After Deals Gap Rotary Rally... I went to check out Import Alliance... Few photographers took pics of my MB FD..

I swapped out the Volk TE37SL Black Editions with R888s to more streetable wheel/tires. Tires are Toyo T1-Sport wrapped around BBS MonoForged wheels also known as GT4 also came on EvoX MR. I am a fan or older Toyo T1S and T1R and was told the new T1-Sports are quiet, grippy, and responsive. Which after driving around today for over an hour through back country roads, highway pulls, sitting on traffic
, I like the T1-Sport.

Looking good Phil. Are the rims a different size? If not, I vote you put the Volks back on with the new tires. I just think they give your car a killer look and the deep lips look better. Looks great regardless.
