If it is just a street machine i think it is not recommended due to the loss of drive ability. But my buddy robert drove all over the place with a 1/2 soo i think its all opinion base on what annoys you ha

I know I know... My friends have been lacking on getting me the video, but I had taken some on powercruize but it was kinda lame... There is an event in 1 month I am determined to get some good footage. It helps that I can now last the full 20 minute session with out stopping after a few laps to work out the bugs ha. I also Suck at the track! but I have def been gaining confidence and getting comfortable with the car which helps alot!

ok so this was the first time I have ever dragged the car... I def need more practice I really think with some tweaking I can get the car into the 11s. But I ran a 13.577 with a 108.59 trap speed. My buddy got a 12.4 with a 108.5 trap speed in his STI. I wasnt loosing traction but major boost between shifts so I need to work on my shifts and I think I need to put heavier springs in.

I believe I am only running 10-20lbs I havent figured out my wg problem... I am just going to put in the 10lb springs & get 2 more id2000 & retune for 20-30 psi. I was trapping faster then the sti. Besides me being very novice I think there is an issie with either a boost leak or something along those lines.... each shift it felt like I lost all my boost...

^ You cant just run no boost controler and the boost stay consistent?

I am running no boost controller and my boost pretty much runs linear with the RPMs my WG do not appear to be big enough as the gates open wide at 10lbs boost and from 4500-7500 it creeps to 20lbs depending on how much load I am putting on the car.

My opinion is poor wastegate placement is causing your boost issues. There is no priority to the wastegate with this design.

Many people have no problem with dual 38mm gates.

i didn't notice it until you guys brought it up, but look at the boost plot on the dyno graph from the previous page:

that should not be happening on wastegate springs alone. i guess you could bandaid it by putting stiffer springs in there and just not demand as much from the wastegates.
and didn't elliot make this? why is it different than the one i bought from him? my wastegates are on the bottom (and i recirc'd them back into the downpipe) and the car holds 10 psi just fine.

also, 480whp should be approaching 130mph trap speeds. not 108mph. 108 is about 250whp in an FD. your shifts weren't that slow in your videos. so you definitely have a problem.
my previous FD trapped 115mph on the stock twins with only intake, open downpipe, and a PFC. at ~14psi.

What is the A/R of your Hot side on the turbo? The reason I ask is we have a theory on what is causing the WG's to creep and be linear with the RPMS

my turbo is a precision 6262 billet w/ .84 turbine housing.

where are you all getting the boost source from?

Elaborate on what you just said?

My buddy Roberts thinks because my hot side a/r is 1.0 it is causing the turbine to spin 2 fast casing the car to boost creep... and we think if I go to a 1.15 a/r hotside it should resolve the issue.

the ports on the side of the wastegates that you have air hooked up to. where are they running to? like are they T'd together and running to a certain port on the intake manifold? are they running separately to two different sources? these are the ports that push the wastegates open and waste the exhaust, so they are pretty important. if they have a weak vacuum source, they could be the cause of boost could creep.

post a picture of where those hoses are running to.

for reference, i have mine T'd and going straight to the nipple on the compressor housing. (i recently changed this and hooked up my electronic boost controller)

that 1.00 turbine housing has about a 1% chance of being the boost creep.

Dude, you have a wastegate flow issue, they are in a terrible location for flow.

I have the same turbo as you with the 1.0 a/r and can run 8 PSI to redline with No boost controller hooked up. Difference is wastegate location and size.

The smaller A/R would restrict flow through the turbine forcing more exhaust gases out of the wastegates. This fact can be anecdotally proven when considering stock twin cars boost creep when the exhaust restrictions are removed. It becomes easier for the exhaust to flow through the turbine.

Bigger ar would be more likely to make the problem worse.

Shawn's manifold is a much older design, it was made around 3 years ago. At that time the priority was simply to make a manifold that had the best boost response possible. Several other members are using the same design with zero boost creep. They are however running 15 plus psi on little bit larger turbos.

I have a 4 -an tapped T-fitting on my compressor housing with same length SS lines going to each of my WG's
