lol, i started a facebook group way back when then ended up getting busy with work, deleted my facebook and they're still up and running but i think the latest post are just stuff being sold. im old school as well, i'll stick to posting stuff on rx7club and rx8club and hopefully word gets out to them. COVID did kill the momentum a bit though as we started doing monthly meets up here, hopefully things will get safe to restart those again.

Just traded in the 2017 MX5... There goes my Mazda family but hopefully her replacement does her well.

Take a guess on what will be replacing her?

I've had this lined up for a while. The original owner of my white FD horded a lot of parts included these and was finally willing to let it go.

Woah congrats on the acquisition! Did you get a pair or just the one? Either way it appears to be near mint from what I can see.

And good to hear 'ole Paul is still around somewhere, you happen to know what his vintage rotary collection is up to?

His vintage rotary collection is going well, he's still selling one of his FD's and possibly one of his R3 RX8's. All of that to fund his RX3 and other toys. Haha. I got a pair, its practically brand new. The rails from Garage Alpha already came in and going to get the seat belt holder as well. I'm excited to get this on the car but no rush while it is winter time. The FD has been nicely tucked away in the garage for more than a month already. I'm sure the Supra will surpass her in mileage in no time. LOL

Its been quite sometime since ive last updated this thread so my bad. I did some small things here and there with the A91 Supra but i wanted to ask you all for your opinion. I received my long awaited 95 R2 in brilliant black. This FD has a full cage (with surface rust included), bridgeported motor w/ 3mm apex seals, 99 spec turbos, m2 intake, unknown intercooler (most likely greddy) with greddy piping, exhaust (apexi i believe), tien coilovers and stoptech bbk. Some mediocore SSR wheels as well with a 6 puck clutch and lightweight flywheel. Anywho, i'm wondering about everyones opinion on selling this FD for an A80 Supra (1993.5) twin turbo w/ 110k miles on it but the caviate is thats its an auto. Might think of flipping it or may 6 speed swap it but definitely give your opinions on it. Let me know what you think! The FD is clean title but does have a few dings here and there as well as some kind of scrape and dent on the fender/front bumper on driver side. Stripped interior, dash was cut to accommodate the roll cage, no headliner. Does have 4 point harness for both passenger and driver as well. Sorry for the ramble!

Depends on what you want out of the car. If you want a nice FD but have an iffy one that needs a lot of work, if you can get a good deal on the Supra and flip it, that pays for your next nice fd.

I would not worry about the auto. Even non turbo auto supras are pulling big money, so it all depends how good of a deal you get on it and how much you can flip it for.

Also, it's not worth doing a 6 speed gertrag swap, they go for like $9k used now. And anyone paying too dollar for a Supra isn't going to prefer a swap vs original. If you need a manual, swap in a cd009. Their are a few nice kits.

Sooo... It's been quite sometime since I've last updated this place so here you go!

Supra Updates
Back in April, i finally decided to buy some small things for the Supra. The two things that bugged me about the Supra was the wind buffeting and the lack of carbon fiber trim between the passenger side vents. The Launch edition came with the CF trim and other Special Editions came with it as well but not the A91 which irritated me. Yeah, I'm OCD like that but whatevs... Haha. I purchased a few items to add a little more CF to the interior but hopefully not be too tacky with it. I got the trim piece for the passenger side as well as some CF door handle trim pieces. i didn't want to overdo it so that is the most CF that will be on the car. I may think of getting the CF steering wheel but we'll see later on. I think this adds a nice touch of CF without going overboard to help match the center console. Also, adding the door handle trim also protects the area as you can see that my lady has made some scratches to the area. Don't mind the messy pictures as during this time, we were cleaning out the garage

CF trim piece for passenger side before installation

Ahh, looks so much better

OEM Door Handle Trim

More CF!

After installation

I also purchased some "functional" CF vents for the supra to get rid of the faux vent that came OEM. One of the few vents that you can actually make it look functional.... I just like the fact that it looks like a legitimate vent. I was super hesitant to get it as most of the trim pieces on the exterior are matte/satin black and i wanted to keep it that way though it does come with CF Mirror caps. So i just pulled the trigger on it.

LH Stock Vent

LH "Functional" Vent

Lastly, i got some anti-buffeting pieces. I wanted these to be gloss black like OEM and look as OEM as possible. I didn't want anything super fancy or something that would draw some attention so i settled on getting these. It also works perfectly and eliminated the wind buffeting when the windows are down. These are a must buy if you plan on getting a Supra. Here are some shots of it.

Before

After

During this day, it was also my first time washing the car since it has been ceramic coated. And Lastly, i got my personalized plate in June finally for the Supra!

I do have some updates on the 95 R2 but will post that a little bit later.

Update for 1995 RX-7 R2 (PICTURE HEAVY)

Good morning all!
Here is an update on the new FD I picked up. Car arrived from Oregon in the beginning of July and been keeping it at my parents place as my place is full. The car would be started up weekly but mainly stays outside (blasphemy, i know...) but will be getting an outdoor car cover soon for it. Last weekend before i left to go to SoCal, i went over, added some oil, drove it around and washed it. I didn't have time to detail it but got it wash. The car has 69k miles on the chassis but the motor has about 4-5k on it. Its ported, 3mm apex seals and lightened/balanced rotors. Koyo radiator, not sure of the intercooler. Also has an ACT clutch, aluminum flywheel, tubular front swaybar with RB adjustable endlinks, JIC coilovers, HKS catback, JIC Coilovers and 3in. SS Downpipe. The car does still have its dash but does have a roll cage (with a bunch of surface rust) in it with 5point harness for both driver and passenger, original R2 passenger seat but driver seat is a touring seat that was a red one painted black or black one painted red (don't know...)? My brother is interested in purchasing the car from me so until he's sure, it will still be mine. The paint is Brilliant Black but definitely could use some paint correction but the car also has some dings here and there and there is some slight damage to the driver side front bumper to fender about a few inches. Original owner planned on making this a dedicated track car but i was going to restore it a little, get the carpeting back in with custom cutouts for the roll cage, wrap the exterior in yellow possibly and widebody the car making it in to a street/weekend track car. Here are some pictures of it. Any comments, feedback or questions are well appreciated!

Missing center cap on the front wheel (anyone got a cap they would like to sell for SSR Integrals?)

R spec lip is a little beat up but luckily replacements are readily available.

There is contact between the intercooler piping and the hood, you can see it on the passenger side piping.

"innovative" battery holder

Surface rust does give it some character though.... i guess...Dash was cut in to but for the most part, it was pretty well done to integrate the dash with the roll cage, yeah, could have been better but it is what it is.

Big ol' OEM steering wheel, that needs to be changed...

Scuff on the front bumper and fender, attempted to buff it out as much as possible but there is some paint cracking in the area.

The BB R2 looks like will be a fun project. That's an M2 medium IC, pretty common with that rub mark on the hot side piping. Is that a bungee cord battery tie down? And OO was going to make this a dedicated track car?
