John, your question blew my mind so much that I haven't updated this thread since

I'll look into it for ya.

In other news….. lots of moving pieces. I have inbound and set to arrive soon:

*A-Spec turbo kit, 6766 BB with 3.5 inch DP
*Remedy water pump
*catback and resonated MP coming in from J-land
*AN fittings and nylon lines for my oil catch can setup

I've also decided to ditch the oil metering pump setup for the sake of simplicity and reliability given what my car is evolving into.

The engine is sitting on the stand with the Exedy clutch and Pineapple oil pan installed, I just need our bud Tiggy to come down and weld up the OMP mount.

Also, I'm moving to the Sakebomb Garage AP big brake kit, but that will have to wait until after DGRR along with the installation of my M2 Chromoly roll cage

I recently sold my old 4 inch exhaust setup and also sold the Series 8 trans to a local customer (thankfully)….. Very excited to get the OS Giken setup installed for good this time around.

Turbo kit arrived from Sean at A-Spec..... as mentioned earlier the turbo is a Precision 6766 ball bearing unit with 1.0 hotside and anti-surge. This is quite a departure from my last setup in a lot of ways, we'll see how this sucker performs. Also the dual-WG manifold and you can see the assortment of oil feed/return fittings, gaskets etc that are provided. The 46mm WGs and 3.5 inch downpipe are on the way

In some shots you can see my brother's SSM and my VR (under the cover)..... both at IRP in full-blown 'DGRR is less than a month away' mode

More pics

It's a damn shame the manifold is covered up as the welds are amazing, over in the A-Spec section another member posted a bunch of pics of his manifold. I also need to snap a shot of the interior of the runners, everything has been smoothed out to aid flow.

That's a very nice single kit, I need to visit A-Spec when I'm ready to go single, since I'm only 30 mins away from them.

Everything looks good. What's the story with A-Spec heat shields? Can they be purchased separately or does Sean have to fit/make them? How much do they cost? Depending on the cost, I could've choose that option if they were available when I got my kit, but afaik only heat coating was available about a year ago.

Its too bad the heat shield hides the beauty of the welds and runners on the manifold. A-Spec's welding is top notch.

It's a new service they're offering.... get in touch with Sean for pricing

thanks Leo

Some more shots as I build up the engine, courtesy of my partner in crime Scrub

He also is a pro with the fender rolling tool, a pair of before/after shots of my brother's rear fender

Helpful random tidbit for those reading along.... belt size to run p/s without a/c is Napa part # 060365, should translate to 6 rib and 36.5 inches
