Let's just say that there are many 13b's that have been blown, rebuilt, and blown again in the course of David's saga.

Wow David, every time someone thinks of something better for your set up I can hear the vacuum sucking at your wallet. I would have banned all thinking at this point . I am so excited to hear updates to this thread. I can only imagine how excited you must feel to actually own this car and get to drive it again soon.

Damn, small world... does this look familiar to you http://www.1220.com/portfolio/tempus1.html.

I work at the company that designed and built your tradeshow booth. Good luck on your project.

Virtually the same. Odviously you have extra time for the extra rotor and such. If you can comfortably rebuild a 2 rotor, a 3 or even 4 rotor isn't much harder to do.

Great minds think alike. I'm actually doing something similar to this myself on my own NA 20b project. I can't wait to see how effective it is.

It'll be another 3 months. In which they'll have to take the engine apart again, and it'll be another 6 months before the car should be ready for pick-up.

^The above is almost correct. No starty just yet. George changed the oil system to include an extra oil filter for the front and center housings and is waiting on a y fitting to come in.

It's just killing me...jjshalom is happy though as they are working on his car until my parts come in.

David, I was just wondering whether you'll be using a 13B or 20B Throttle-body? If it's the 13B TB (Which it looks like to me) are there any issues with the TPS? If you don't know the answer, don't worry. I figured I'd ask here and then go to the 20B section. TIA!

I know I'm using the 13B TB but I can't say with certainty if there were any issues with TPS. To my knowledge, no. This hasn't come up in discussion with the Gotham guys.

Thank you! I was just trying to make sure whether the 13B TPS and 20B TPS were interchangeable. I know a lot of parts are and was just trying to confirm.

G/L with your FD. I can't wait to read the post where you actually get to drive it. I've been working on my 20B project for nearly a year now and I'm slowly starting to lose the motivation to finish it. I commend your patience and desire.

The idle control is different on the 13b and 20b TB. I went with the 20b TB since I'm keeping the AC. Otherwise the RPMs drop off 400 rpms or so (if I remember right) when the AC is turned on without the idle control. So if you're going to run AC with the 20b TB, you have to have it tuned with the idle set real high or it can stall when the AC is on and the car is stopped.

Riz, I was just helping chris carlisi work on his 20B, and he's running the 20B tb to retain the idle speed control. he was able to get the throttle cable to work on the backside of the tb.....why would you run the 13b tb and lose the ISC?

Well, I'd like to run the 13b TB because it's just more aesthetically pleasing. Besides, this way I can run a nice Greddy Elbow instead of the whack 20B one. I've seen plenty of people doing this so I figured it wouldn't be an issue. The throttle cable was another issue seeing that it's on the back and most cables won't extend that far.

Would I not be able to run the ISC if I went with a 13B TB? I thought almost everything on the TB's were interchangeable.

David: I don't mean to hijack your thread. If you have any objection just let me know and I'll post my questions elsewhere. Thanks!

Well, I no longer have A/C in mine so would there be any other issues associated with not running the 20B TB?

^Don't know if they still sell the strut bar Gordon. I'd say give them a call. On the satin black approach for the engine, I like it. It's a stealth evil sort of look.

UPDATE: All of the oil system parts are now in, including the fittings and the race oil filter. So, this means everything is at Gotham now for the rebuild to be complete. Haven't heard from George when he's finishing up the assembly of the oil system and firing it up.

I just noticed that another guy ("paximus" in 20b forum) started up his 20b just-fine-thank-you and was thinking there must be a "bunch" of 20b's on the road, maybe, 20-30? But, it seems as though there are another 20 or more getting done this spring. Any guesses?

Hell, I bet there's enough for a 20b event somewhere on the east coast? You up for something, David?

Gordon
I think they are steel but as the car is still at Gotham, I don't know for sure. As to the number of 20bs on the road, I think your guess is pretty good. You should start a "How many 20bs are on the road?" thread. It could be interesting.

Yes, I would be up for a 20b event on the east coast
