^ Definitely will send you an invite. My plan is to ensure my car is together and back and then put something together.

Will probably try to recreate the event we did at VIR a few years back as that was a really good time. We rented the south course at VIR and had exclusive use of it. Was supposed to be a testing event but all the test cars crapped out so we did an afternoon of open track instead.

So, we can find out if that beast of yours can corner.

Yea another event will be really nice. I still need to swap my t56 in but the event date is what's gonna determine if I have time to swap or not.

^ Do the swap, you will have time. What I'd like to do is to put off any planning until my car is back and I know it's good to go. Given the way things have gone, I'd say realistically, I am looking at September before I get the car back and then I want to ensure things are good. I've got a track event in Roebling GA in mind in November to test it out.

So, I'd say we do something early next year. Want to invite the 3 rotor guys and then some V8 swap guys like Ruler Mark. From, there I'd open it up to anyone that wants to come and hang out.

^ The timing on something like this always takes longer than expected so I am trying to be realistic, especially since I want to be there. So, if you leave it up to me, then early next year seems like the right time.

David,
It's time for a wing

If you guys want some 2 rotor cars to run along as 3 rotor/v8 bait let me know

PS I happen to have a nice APR 300 wing that would look awesome!

See post #3624 for a close pic and #3628 for the details on materials used. I really like the style of what I did, however, no matter what I tired, I could not get the light bright enough (DRL level) for my taste. So I recently ripped them apart and came up with a new, much brighter style (see post #4242 for the details). I hope I like them as much as the Audi style ones. They will match nicely what I did on the rear taillights so we shall see.

Neve been much of a wing guy Fritz. Just really like the clean look of the back end as it is. I know to do well on the track I need a wing, but I need one that doesn't look "ricer" as the car see more street time than track. Something OEM style but do any of the OEM ones really work?

As for an event, absolutely you and Peter will be invited. Anyone else you would like to have there? I'd like you to drive my car when it's properly sorted versus the pile of poop it was last time.

When GT3 RS cars and GTRs etc....are equipped from the factory with big wings it's no longer rice it's race and your car is absolutely race so a wing is in order and not at all out of place

My eye is of coursed bias because of all the track cars I see but that is a butt naked car if I've ever seen one

Looking forward to another test and tune day

^ Too funny about the "butt naked" part. So Fritz, do OEM style wings help at all? Or something like the Shine wing?:

Is there something that will work a bit but be more in line with my taste for a street car?

put a real wing on it the same way it has a real engine, brakes, tires etc....

^That wing looks more cosmetic than anything. I have the feed type 2 wing and think it not only looks great but functional because it's adjustable. Here's my *** pick from Sevenstock last year.

That looks really nice. I like the carbon insert. I could see that on the car and as the center is adjustable, I'd guess you could dial it in for track days?

Sure can. In the pic, it's in it's lowest setting. It can go two more levels higher. I found another pic of my car on Sevenstock.org so you can see the roundness of the wing. Too me, I think it's perfect with our Pettit flares.

^ That is too funny. Come to think of it, I believe this is the first pic I have seen of t-von's car in a completed state. Very nice!

If I go with a wing, it would be something like t-von's. Looks OEM but would also be functional to a point. Maybe Fritz will weigh in on how well the wing would work on track? I'll never be a track junkie like him so for my needs, something good?

^ Thx David! It's nice to finally show some pics of my hard work for a change. Towards the end of the month a buddy of mine has a 2jz fd and he has a guy that wants to do a photo shot of both our cars. Hopefully I get some nice pics to add to my build thread next month. These wings look really nice in person (especially with the flares).

David I have a 99spec wing according to Mazda tests/papers its supposed to give aroung 200lbs of downforce at 100 mph with the wing at full tilt

An actual gt wing is supposed to give around 800lbs of downforce given the same situations there was a Jdm video regarding the FD and wings when I get the chance I'll try and find it

^ Tem120, thanks for the video post. It was entertaining to watch (I do my own interpreting with no knowledge of Japanese ). But the point is valid, a wing increases downforce and one like the APR 300 would work best.

So here is my question: Would one like t-von's work well enough for an occasional mid level skill (white group) track guy like me? With the adjustable center section, I would think the answer would be yes but what do you think Fritz or Peter? Peter, don't you or didn't you run something similar?

I'm gonna guess it will be similar to the 99 wing it will help a bit but no where near as much as a gt wing ha-ha I have a 99 and I've tried doing a session with the wing on the least angle of attack vs max and it did make some kind of difference but Fritz and Peter are definitely your go to guys for this question I'm looking forward to the answer

Since I drive my car on the street alot I went with the OEM
