Looking forward to see how this setup works for you! Its what i wanted to do but am hamstrung due to tight emissions in my state.

Jason
The airpump might fit with the 7670 EFR on this manifold, but I would have to double check. The 7670 can definitely be placed farther back, but it won't clear RHD cars then. WG actuator will probably bump the steering rack. 8374 can not be moved any farther back, regardless of LHD or RHD drive.

This design is for LHD, RHD, stock lim, excessive lim, and 7670 or 8374... I am no longer interested in making one off manifolds, there has to be decent demand to make a 7670 LHD manifold only...

Just looks off with a tach not working in an fd.

i'm going to keep the power the same, at about ~340-350whp, as this is primarily a track day car. this turbo is a little bigger than the 6262, so it should make more power at the same boost, but i'll turn it down to keep the whp where it's at.

^ low boost and long-term reliability are big factors for me, as i'm not 21 years old anymore and hitting the drag strip twice a week. i am driving this thing 4+ hours to track events, running it for over 2 hours of full throttle, then driving it 4+ hours home.

i would like to turn the boost to 15-16psi on the dyno and see what it will do, but i probably won't. i'm getting old

^I feel you on that one buddy. chasing high numbers is just not the game anymore. making a car with 350whp last a decade is a far larger accomplishment to me, lol

looks like you'll be up and running soon though. keep up the good work.

finally got all the parts in. bought the turbo and manifold from turbosource.net and got a pretty good deal. their price on the EFR turbos is the cheapest one i could find online.

fab guy should be starting on the downpipe today. and i may be making the hardlines myself, depending on whether or not i run out of money. (someone please remind me why i bought this expensive EFR turbo!)

got the stock MAZDA FD inconel turbo/block studs and nuts (m10x1.5 if anyone was wondering) for my turbo/manifold connection.

these turbos are very high quality!

1) You were bored.

2) Blazing trails is fun.

JK. It will be much simpler and reliable for track use.

got my turbo in, and made some stainless hard lines for it (^fero313 actually made them. i can't take credit)

made my oil feed line (just a few random pics of that):

and some pictures of the turbo and manifold mounted to the engine (lines and wastegate actuator not installed in these pics):

Absolutely love the way it sits in the engine bay with that manifold.

Cool beans, hopefully that actuator can handle massive heat.

If this works I may do the exact same thing

got some pics from the shop today, as my fabricator friend finished up the downpipe, cat, and replacement straight pipe. i'll post some more tonight.

i still have a few small things left to do:
wrap the downpipe with my DEI titanium wrap, re-fill coolant, slightly relocate the heater core water pipe, and hook up vac lines.

How did you hook up your Battery ground?......or is that power going to your starter?

that's a power wire going to the starter.

battery is mounted in the hatch with the main ground cable grounded in the hatch.
