Like the concept. I dabble in such things myself and they are very time consuming ventures. I always start one but never end up finishing lol. It's coming along nicely. So what's he using to film/edit?

Car's looking great!

I admire the speed at which you get things done. It's taken me two years to strip the engine bay in my FC .

It been awhile so i thought i would update the thread.

Sold the adaptronic ecu and went with a PFC. Ordered FFE Step Up kit from IRP.

Tags have been expired since Sept and finally got new tags the other days.

Hoping I just need to change the oil in it prior to DGRR.

Cruising with the wife to DGRR last year. Hoping we are able to take her FD this year.

Not to derail, but I found it on carbonfiberhoods by selecting 1999 for the model year. It didn't come up when I searched for 1994. Weird, but just bad web design I guess.

Back on track..beautiful car JohnnyK

Put Volk GT-P on the car

FD Maintenance / Build-egdvhskl.jpg

Re wired the fuel pump which exposed a fuel leak. Fixed that, did some street tuning on Thurs and hit the dyno on Friday.

Made 301 at 12 lbs. Which is what it made 2 years ago on the adaptronic. It has a PFC on it now.

IAT, Water and Oil Temps were solid on the dyno.

8/7 Update, so that i can look back later and see how i was feeling about the car.

Put 250 miles on the car over wknd.

AC is blowing cold-ish. Only works on fan speed 1 and 2 and temp only gets down to 50 degrees.

The car is still fun to drive but I think i want to upgrade from konis ground control setup to Ohlins.

Car still rattles here and there and hate the way the car sounds when you close the door. Will be putting some sound deading in it over the winter.

The re conditioned seats seem firmer than the stock base seats in my R1.

The Rotary 13b aluminum interior door pull is a nice upgrade.

Wished i could drive it more but driving it to work in rush hour traffic is no fun.

Have a different steering wheel for it coming, other than that nothing too exciting going on.

Killer car man.

I take it that the front 99 bumper works alright using the original reinforcement when mod to fit?

yes sorry for the late reply.

Another boring update.

Installed new passenger window switch. Many thanks to Ray for hooking a brother up.

Also installed newer style steering wheel. Went with the flying M and red stitching.

Thinking about taking it to deals gap next month.

Nice cleanup on your car. You have put a lot of work into it. I see you are in Nashville. I was born and raised in Columbia. Went to school in Nashville and lived in Antioch for a few years prior to moving to Georgia.

No pics of this because it's nothing really to look at but tapped and installed plugs on the water pump housing and welded up the hole for the AST drain on the radiator. Wanted to eliminate potential failure points.

Installed Shine Street Diffuser. There are two spots that need additional work. Not sure how I feel about this mod yet.

Thinking about changing my engine and turbo setup.

How I use the car
  • Cars and coffee meet, maybe 6 times a year
  • Track days, 2 times a year
  • Deals Gap (public road that has 318 turns in 11 miles) 2 times a year

What I’m wanting
  • A cool sounding brapping FD
  • 450 rwhp and 300ftlbs by 3500 rpms on 93 octane and water/meth injection

What I’m thinking
  • Semi p port – this is probably overkill
  • IRP EFR8374 IWG turbo kit
  • 3 inch down pipe
  • 3 inch mid pipe
  • Buddy Club Spec III Catback Exhaust
  • Blitz FMIC

Thoughts on my what I'm thinking? I know i can probably achieve my goal with a street port but wanted to try a semi p port setup.

You're at the track twice a year and after that, mostly hard parked sir (Nothing wrong with that BTW). A Semi P port is def over kill.

Aren't you running the Single kit from IRP? Or did I not read that right?

The 8374 will meet your goals easy, take a look at my thread where I posted the dyno graphs from my power tune at IRP. Click here for the thread.

It's fun on the street but hard to stretch all the way out, especially for me since my trans has the old shift select spindle and I roasted my 5th gear synchro by missing the 2-3 shift. Any time I try to do the 2-3 shift at WOT above 6k RPM I grind into 5th. I'm on stock brakes and suspension too and found myself scared of how fast the car was when I took it out on Summit Main in the wet last month. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the EFR 8374 is an awesome turbo but it's too big for a street car IMO.

I have a 57mm Garrett turbo on a hks cast manifold. The wife's FD has a single kit from IRP. After driving hers, mine is pretty boring.

Get a new shift select spindle. They can be replaced from under the car (it's a pain, but doable).

And there's nothing like driving in the rain at WOT

Apologize for the thead jack
