Those are going to look so good on your FD! Solid choice on tire size too, I personally love the 285/30/18 squared. Looking forward to seeing pics with your new shoes on.

So are the wheels from Mazda Motorsports or something? Haven't seen them with that logo on there.

Dale, these were made specifically for the FD with the collaboration of Mazda Motorsport and Rays for those that wanna run 18x10 with out hacking up the fenders/body to make them fit(see below).

Someone posted about these before.. I’d always been a fan of these wheels

Hopefully these screen shots work.

Damn Steve, you're making me want to spend more cash on my FD! Always wanted a square tire setup with meaty rubber like that, so do these fit without any fender rolling?

Pete, my fronts are already rolled, and I planned on rolling the rears too.
I know @BLUE TII has ran some meaty wide wheels like 18x10. 18x11 and such.
Maybe he can chime in here with his experience of what requires... fender rolling or not

New wheels on!

New combo on, drove around and no rubbing.

Very happy with this setup! Love the color.. iPhone camera doesn’t do it justice.
Oh yeah the center caps are on the way.

18x10 +50 wheel size has been the standard for completely stock fender FD race wheels for about the last 20 years.

Racers used to be limited to expensive multipiece CCW wheels ordered in the "FD fitment" of18x10 with 7.5" backspace ('meri an for 18x10 +50 offset.).

With camber maxed up front (as one needs for racing) this fits 285/30-18 on stock unrolled front fenders.

_____

I like to push the envelope and found I liked the more direct feeling from a tire's contact patch when running as wide a wheel as possible on a given tire.

So, I read and carefully measured my FD and came up with the 18x11 +45 offset "Rotary Motoring" fitment.

This 18x11 +45 fitment requires coilovers, max front camber and a rolled front fender, but I have so far fit 305/30-18 (actually 305/640-18) race tires and am eying the 315/30-18 200utqg street tires now that my ASP race class is gone.

I started with Forgestar F14 wheels because they offer custom offsets, but in 2020 Rays started making Volk TE37 Saga S Plus in Rotary Motoring 18x11 +45 fitment and I was able to get a set.

Mazda Comp should offer these 18x11 +45 TE37s as an FD fitment option too! As well as the 18x12 +30 TE37s for those with thepopular +30mm wide fenders.

Super cool

Man that is super cool. I love the idea of a 285 square set up. I am just curious of the weight of the wheels.
