can it be done? i think so 2 week build thread

After taking my car out at the end of December last year, my Vband flange broke off my turbo so thus started a list of projects. i removed the bumper and intercooler to paint it, and properly fit my bumper finally. followed by pulling the seats to get new leather on them, upon removal of my manifold and turbo i found what i didnt want a place to spend more money lol.

to start HKS cast iron manifold has a crack in it, the HKS wastegate is stuck and is broken along with my turbo needing a new hotside. also the omp which is not functional is leaking so on the order list is a new manifold new tial wastegate, resonated midpipe, HKS twin power, Bosh 044 fuel pump, omp block off plate and a tune.

on a good note though the motor is from 2004 built by RX7store here in Columbus, and after 7 years and premixing the motor looks new, with minimal carbon on the faces of the rotors.

pics will be up soon once i get to the shop on monday.

actually the motor is from 2007 built by me and patco.. the rx7store motor blew a cooling seal... sucks about the rest of this **** failing tho...

and good luck fitting that bumper, without major work and repainting its not going to happen... the shaved license plate ones just dont fit like oem.

it can be done, provided you have all the parts before starting. Best of luck.

i have a Garrett T-61, i found that it was not bad i took it and had the flange rewelded and re-enforced along with the HKS waste gate after further looking into it and taking the top half off. I found that the nut and washer on the had come loose and now everything is in working order. and with the end of school next week and parts on the way as i type this everything is looking good. i will have pics as i have a new (special) way to use my meth kit, i will have details of the build and tune once everything comes together and is ready to be put back on the car. my goal is to have the car 100% within the next few weeks.

i believe the reason is due to the overall market and drop in sales over the years. while they will remain in business all parts will be coming straight from Japan, so expect a delay on all HKS orders.

OH Hey Yasser

Hey bro

Curious, whats the "special" way for the meth/water kit? Glad your cars coming along nicely. Dont let the Twin Power hold ya up. Dont need that to get it up and running, just install later when its here dude.

If your interested in a .50" thick aluminum OMP block off plate w/the groove for o-ring let me know. Not necessary though, but you know how I do. Actually, you should just stick w/what Zavier suggests, he is the man for sure plus I always go way overboard w/that stuff and it really isnt necessary.

Pauls car is running & sounding great (so far). Lookin foward to Import Face Off in August how about you.

I would still like to take advantage of your photo skills too man.

See ya soon.

well today after many hours of running into some issues the car is running about 100 times better than it did before the build.

Bosch 044 (big daddy) of fuel pumps

HKS Twin Power

120$ of Jegs line and fittings

AEM meth kit installed into the factory elbow using the largest injector.

[IMG]http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/ww239/v8killa7/_DSC0016-3.jpg[/IMG

Twin Power installed, i really need to delete my cruise control and hide those wires.

car in its un-happy state.

with my car being Canadian spec the washer fluid tank is located in the trunk, its larger than the take that would come with the AEM system so i taped into this for a clean stock looking location.

Fuel feed line removed making way for the braided line.

parts holder for the day lol.

meth line ran through the rubber under the car to the pump located under the hood.

finally taping into the stock fluid feed line for the meth kit.

i will have more pictures taken tomorrow, as soon as i got the car home it began to storm really bad and it was late, all in all i ran into simple issues that were very time consuming i had a few fuel leaks upon first trial. getting power to the meth system had to be tracked down and i had a leak from my oil return line due to a faulty gasket. all of which have been addressed and the car is running great, hopefully i will have DYNO numbers in the next few weeks.

Geez dude. What's with the 2 BOV's? lol

My brother and I have accomplished more in 2 weeks than you're aspiring to do.

So I'm sure you'll be fine!

Now, GET BACK TO WORK!!!

ive seen you build thread, its great. i wish i had to time and the funds to do what you do but being a full time student and working 40-50 hours a week to pay for bills and school has me on a crunch at the moment lol. maybe with school being done for the year i will have more free time to finish up lol. also the 2 RFL's came on the car and i have had no issues with them so im keeping them until my 20B build in a few years.

i would also like to add the delay was due to waiting on parts and only using the lift during off hours at the shop.

Hey Yasser

Glad to hear your back on the road again. Expect to see ya out next weekend maybe. Although, after all that I'll be lucky to see your tail lights.

Seriously though, nice to hear your FD's back on the road.

why are you running the meth kit through the old windshield wiper pump? shouldnt you delete that and run it directly from the tank??

if my brain understands this correctly, in the pic you showed, you will need to activate the rear ws wiper fluid and water meth for fluid to spray?? otherwise the old pump is just blocking?
