Had to raise the back up a little as I was shaping on our $hit driveway.
Loving the decision to go back to 10kg springs

Very interested in how that turbo rebuild goes.

Since I have accumulated 21 used ones.

Local turbo shop refused to work on them saying they were too hard to balance.

There is a guy here in Sydney who can supply me the two wheels and the kit comes with .85 SP actuators.I have already spoken to a turbo guy here that did work on my Subaru Blouch 1.5 Dom and he said no drama they are relatively easy so happy to keep you in the loop.I am just tossing up what I do with the cracks in the manifold. Get them repaired or hunt down another one to swap out

99.5% of manifolds will have some cracks. Folks say cracks are ok if the stay within the gasket footprint. Yours seems to be "cross ported" a wee bit., haha.

There are likely stacks of these turbos in the dark depths of some tuner shops.

Maybe you can sort through and find a good one.

Or better yet, find someone newly swapping a working one out for an aftermarket unit.

I've been looking into the reliability of welding cast iron and it seems ok if done right.I will do a hunt for something less cracked up.the motor apparently only had 100,000 km on it but I suspect probably had a tune that worked it hard. Everything else seems fine.
I'm still trying to come to grips with you having 21 spare turbo's.
because I'm not chasing big power I will be more than happy with an upgraded twin that fits and runs OEM.

Lots of old turbos sitting around from people doing singles swaps. I have just been taking them in without much of a plan. You might be able to cobble together one good set from three abandoned ones.

A small sampling from about five years ago. The collection has grown since then.

Sometimes when I go out to the carport in the morning I will find a turbo sitting there with a note: "needs a home".

When we were doing the sequential rebuild on my car we discovered the front turbo was chewed up.

Luckily I had a 255 hp twinset from my 1992 Automatic parts car.

The parts car only had 70,000 km and the turbo was immaculate.

Tuner had no trouble hooking it up to my 16bit stock ecu system.

(The engine from that car ended up in mine, at a later date.)

Look for a used turbo from an automatic. Typically they will have had less stress.

Well Have been looking at getting one of the pedal covers from Japan and they have been going for stupid prices so thought I would have a crack at doing my own version.
I will eventually get one of the full cast ones that I seen a vendor on here has ( Sakebomb I think ) but postage to Australia is stupid. Be great if they offered a surface post option.
Anyway here is where I am at now. Just want to look at where I will drill some holes and how I will mount it.
I find the stock height of the pedal a little hard to heel and toe so this may help.
The last pic is where I roughed out the one on the left and when I went to test fit found out after near an hours work I had bent the thing the wrong way not sure how the LHD pedal sits, may be ok for LHD

Are those tools your Grandpa's?

Came around the "Horn" a century ago?

Wonderful!

Nice to see the custom work.

Funnily enough did have a similar conversation the other day.
In my defense, If you look hard you can see the dremil.

I had some alloy plate laying about from another house project so thought I would give it a go. Not too bad for a first crack I think.

Think should be warming up that side of town and a few more meets on the horizon ?
Hows the car been going. Do you moth ball it for the winter like a seen a lot of people do

No a bad turn out with what looks like the promise of rain.
Car's looking pristine as always
Here is a question for you. Do you know if you can change the globes in the OEM fog lights without removing the bar ?

I have one that is burnt out. Looks like you have to remove the back plate. Often pretty rusty back there. I just might swap in an entire new light. Accidently picked up a brand new one a while ago.

Meanwhile I have also acquired a set of the ultrarare "crystal" look fogs (2002 shop option), but with yellow lenses.

Below is a clear set.

I see you have a wonderful knack of finding those parts people never can.
You would probably have more of a need for the real yellow fog lights than I would. Good find.
I had mine out for a refurb when I was waiting for compliance so I might see if there is a way to get to the mounting bolts on the brackets.
Keen to swap mine over to LED H3

Well finally got my PWR intercooler after quite a long wait.
Install was relatively easy.
But in true enthusiasts form I decided that while AutoEXE intake was off I would repaint it in an epoxy satin.
Then decided I will now install the thermo sensor with lower kick in temp.
Then brain threw logic of just do the belts and then why not replace water pump.
forgot that I had the Greedy bellmouth so going to plumb that in also.
.
Any tips on water pump replacement?.

Thank You Sir,
Trying to keep it real and keep it reliable.
Think I'll be jumping into a few new mechanical experiences.

Also go around to doing the AutoEXE brake lines.
Just need to remember to bleed them when I get time. The lines were due for a flush I think.
