Here's link that has dyno chart (add 15% to convert to DynoJet) and a good analysis of our autoX setup....setup designed for low end torque.

Here's link again, if it doesn't work this time search CHRIS LUDWIG (our ace tuner) and look for his thread AUTOX FD DYNO:

The power steering pump is from a SW20 MR2. This pump in my opinion is not the best choice but I had one and they are easy to wire up. Some of the newer EPS pumps have a built in reservoir. For a cleaner install I would prefer those type EPS's.

The EPS install was really a very easy install. Although my main goal was to get weight off the driver side front an move it to the passenger side rear. All the brackets, pump, bolts and misc power steering parts weighed in around 15lbs. The EPS was almost exactly the same 15lbs but located where I wanted it.

Parts list:

1. SW20 EPS
2. 70 amp fuse and holder
3. relay
4. Steel AN 90 degree fittings for the pressure side Al for return
5. -4 high pressure braided hose.
6. -6 braided hose for return
7. Setrab small cooler on return side.
8. Al. power steering reservoir.

Those are the basics, I had most of the stuff laying around in the garage from other projects. fittings, hoses, wires and such.

First mounting the pump was one of the easy parts. For a street car you would have to use the rubber isolators. I had to go back and wrap some sound deadening material and foam around the pump for the noise. It is very loud. I made a simple bracket to blot to the floor and then simple hose clamps secure the pump to the bracket. I did this so I could remove very quickly if needed.

Second was to mount the reservoir. I also just made a simple bracket to mount to the rear of the center console. It is not very pretty but it worked. The seat hides everything except the top of the reservoir. This is the reason I would like to use a new style pump with the reservoir attached.

Third thing was to run the return and pressure lines to the pump. I just routed the lines up the passenger side of the car and up through the wheel well harness opening. I made sure I covered the braided hose with rubber hose if it was close to any other wires so it would not rub through. Then I just continues down to the rack. You can see the rack connections and the return line cooler in the pictures.

Finally I wired everything up to the battery. fortunately that was close. I wired in a relay and a power on/off switch to turn the pump on and off. Also I have an input to the Haltech to boost the idle when the pump is activated. All that works just fine for the extra juice the pump uses.

This pump is basic as it gets. No speed inputs or variable stuff like that. So far this is the best modification I have done to the steering to date. The steering is very constant during low and high speed turns. Also the feel is perfect at higher speeds too. I do not see a reason to reduce the steering pressure with speed as some of the newer style pump do.

The issues I had during auto crossing was where I would be entering a very slow element from a high speed speed element. As I would slow down very quickly ( all over the ABS) the engine RPM's would drop rapidly therefore not turning the pump enough. As I would turn into the turn the steering would feel heavy and not precise. This was my experience anyway. Also during slaloms it seemed I was always over powering the steering sawing back and fourth. The EPS keeps up with the fast steering inputs.

Another link to Dyno chart. hope this one works. https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo...d-dyno-956766/

Just adding more pictures of Engine and Dyno day. The lighting was great for engine bay pictures. Also I had a video of one of the pulls.

We use three r/p ,4.1/4.44/4.77
With the 4.10, 25.6" dia tires 2nd gear speed at 8,000 rpm is 73.6 MPH

Both old and new engines were Chris Ludwig tuned with a low boost setting of 12-14 psi and high boost at 20-22 psi. The high boost setting is limited by our "little" turbo.
We think Chris is as good as they come at FD tuning...he has spent more time in our drivers seat than we have.
