Getting the interior ready for all new plastics I have stored away. The goal is to remove my gauges so that the rpm guage and the odometer may be sent to Tampa, FL to be fixed. Second part is to have the ac fixed so the new plastic can be installed. The new plastic will be modified so that gauges will replace the radio bin slot. I will no longer use a radio head unit. Instead the radio will work through a blue tooth that will communicate with my cell phone. My cell phone will be my radio via blue tooth. Brap on as I continue through this rewarding journey

Such a clean FD!
Keep up the good work on the car! The color looks great.
Very nice meeting you too.
We'll have to meet up again.

Thank you. It would have been very easy just to sell the car and call it a day. I daily drove this car from 98 to 2000 without a flaw with the twin turbos. In the middle of 2000 I switched to a single turbo with a power fc. It ran well until the painter blew the motor. Knowing it was a reliable car at some point I knew I just needed the right person to build and tune it. I will always say that a reliable rotary takes a good engine builder, good tuner and a knowledgable owner. Dont cheap out and premix.

Finally took the time to send my gauges to DNA Speedometers in Tampa, Fl. As I was talking to one of the techs he tells me they were in the middle of fixing some gauges from a 93 rx7. I cant wait to get mine back so I can install my brand new oem plastics. Brap on until I get bored and tear into some other aspects of the build. Take care of yourselves and others during this difficult time

Great build thread and your reviews are extremely helpful. I had to laugh at how long your car sat before you got to it, only because mine has been following me around since 99. After all your pain, it looks great and I’m sure its been worth it. Looking forward to more updates. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Snipe g. Yes it has been a struggle and for me it has been well worth it. These cars will follow you around like a loyal dog but a lot more expensive. The purpose for the reviews were to help others on the rx7 owners. I am glad that it has helped you. I will be doing some more reviews as I go along. 1999 wow!! There are not too many hard headed Fd owners like us. We are real rotards. Brap on

I should get the gauges back in about 2 to 3 weeks. We will definitely have to go for a cruise. I am dying to ride in your car since I know you have the iwg borgwarner turbo in it. Just want to get an opportunity to see how it compares to my turbo. For what I hear it's the best turbo on the market. Then again I am afraid I may like it and then I have to spend some money. Brap on

Hello to all and I hope all are healthy and taking care of themselves and loved ones. It has been a while since I have posted a review on some after market parts used to build my car. Today I am going to review my 18 inch enkei rpf1. Let's start with the dimensions. Up front are 18inch/9.5 width/38 offset. Rears are 18 inch/10/35 offset. I weighed the rpf1and I believe the fronts were 18lbs and the back were like 19lbs. My old wheels were like 25 lbs fronts and like 27 lbs in the rear. On my first drive on the street I immediately noticed the difference compared to my old wheels. My old wheels were like four anchors. It was a noticable difference in braking, acceleration and in the twisty stuff. The wheels look great, they are strong and best of all they are light. They just seem to fit the rx7 well. The aggressive setup made it necessary to roll front and rear fenders. I am very pleased with my purchase of these wheels and I plan on buying a track set in the future. With that said I am not sure if to run a square setup for the track or the offset setup I currently have. I am leaning towards square for the track to help with the rotation during cornering.

I am now going to review my custom splitters done by Kevin. Kevin is a local car guy here in Orlando Fl that makes custom splitters for all makes and models. The splitters made for my car were custom made by Kevin by hand. The quality of the splitter is top notch. The material used is strong and so far has not become wavy like most splitters available. Alot of splitters out there tend to get wavy due to the hot sun baking them. Fitment is great and it flows great with the lines of the car. I decided that I wanted mine painted flat black. Many choose to do gloss black but I felt the gloss would be to too flashy. Also I can feel the car a bit more planted when I am at higher speeds. Over all I am very happy with look and the functionality these splitters and I am glad to have placed them on my car. Brap on

I talked to DNA on Friday and they advised me that they have fixed my fuel gauge and rpm gauge. They are currently being challenged with the odometer read out. He explained to me that they can see the milage numbers but they are a little broken up and not to there standards. They are currently trying to figure it out and said I may need a new board. They said they were going to continue to try to keep the original board if they can. I can tell you they have done a few rx7 gauge so they are experienced in our cars. I can also tell you that they answer the phone and are very professional. I will keep you guys updated and I will do a review and maybe a video of the gauges when I get them back. Brap on!!!

Update and review my gauges

Today I was sent a video from the guys at DNA Speedomters in Tampa, Fl. After many hard work hours on my original odometer board a decision was made to use a donor mother board instead. The move was a sucess and they even took the time to make sure the milage was correct. They also fixed my rpm gauge. Andrew was always my contact person and updated me on the process of my gauges. The phone conversations were always proffessional and informative. They never gave me the run around and was very familiar with Fd gauges. After the work was completed he even sent me a video of my working gauges. The bottom line is if you want your gauges fixed correctly, I strongly recommend DNA Speedometers.

^ DNA is great. They have repaired a few clusters for me in the past and were always prompt, courteous, and professional. Plus, great prices.

I hooked up the gauges to the car and tested them. The car started right away and the gauges worked perfectly. Excuse my mess for she is under construction. Next move is fixing my ac and running custom lines. Once that is done then I will add the new plastics for the gauges, ac panel and shifter plastic. Brap on rotards

Well rotards I am at a stand still for about another week. My sons race schedule and work have me really tied up. I should be putting the ac in the car next week. I was in the pits with my buddies race team and was able to see some cool rotary race cars. The miata is my buddies race car. It was a great event.

I wish I lived closer to Orlando, I am down by Ft Myers and have not seen very many FD's here.
