93 rx7 Fd improving a great sportscar
Ita been a while since i have been able to post pics. I can now post pocs with my new phone. Switched from Microtech to Fuel Tech in a hope to run a flex sensor and flez fuel.
Bad news
After going Fuel Tech it has been discovered that my engine got hurt at the track. Apparently it went dry a few times coming out of a fast left sweeper. More news as we pull this engine right before DGRR. Will it make the meet?
Nothing on the old motor was worth keeping so, i bought my buddy Tito spare motor built by Petit Racing with zero miles.
Tito came through as i needed the a motor right away, if i was to make it to DGRR 2025.
The OEM apex seals were removed and Aviation classics were installed.
My buddy Joey did the install and i wrenched on some odds and ends.
We are on it!!!
Engine is in and new Fuel Tech injectors and computer. Thank you to Edgar for the tunning and the wire harness. Super clean install and the base tune made the first start effortlessly.
Edgar tunning it up for the challenges of the dragon.
LRB came through just on time.
We made it to Bryson City. The car performed flawlessly during the whole meet and was ripping through the dragon. More pics to follow as we had a blast!!
Steve took my baby for a test drive. Oops that is Tito car. Lol All these damn red FD. All nikes aside he did take mine for a rip.
Picked these up at DGRR for a great price. Shot out to Rx7 Parts.com

Nice last minute jam session and you got it done. Congrats to you and the team.
Now, tell me about painting the engine bay. Contemplating painting mine next time the engine comes out.

Thank you. It was not easy and i did feel the pressure. Being able to take the car to DGRR was well worth the hard work. Let's get into the task of painting the engine bay. The most time consuming part was taping up and wrapping the car. The whole car was wrapped in plastic ecept the engine bay. The windshield wiper motor was removed and so was the windshield cowl. The area near the pop up lights were taped and blocked off also. Anything that was electrical was wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape. The strut tower bolts were taped with painters tape. We also put plastic over the steering rack and sub frame. We were super cautious not to wet the fuse box located behind the front bumper. Once everything was well taped or covered in plastic we degrease and pressure washed the engine bay. I dried the engine bay with my landscaping blower and then painted it. I almost forgot I had to wet sand the engine bay also. We went to a paint shop and had them mix us up some Mazda Victory Red paint and clear coat in some paint cans. My buddy Joey painted it and as was blown away on how well it came out. One would never guess it was done with a spray can.
Getting Caught Up
This was a few months ago. I purchased an RX8 for my 18year old son and headed out to the coast to meet with Steve and Tito. It's not the dragon but still cool to cruise on the coast, get some laughs and some good seafood. Alot more to come, including some pics of the work that has been done to the car since DGRR.
Getting ready to head to the coast from my house with my son in his Rx8. A real dream for me as a father. Brapping time!!!
Met up with Steve and Tito near the coast.
Aeesome chill vibes on the coast.
Group pics are always welcomed.

Stopped for some super cool pics.
Super cool place to eat and get some laughs. Being so close to the ocean puts a super cool spin on things.
Seafood, chill rotary group and some laughs is priceless.
Made the trip back home and tucked in for the day.
Had some support
I did not do this alone and I have a group of rotary friends that gave me a helping hand. I thank them all for getting me up and running in such short time.
Getting around
Picked up a spare motor for the Rx8.
Went to a rotary gathering.with some rotary buddies.
