Bought some old skool rims from him. Here is a PM I got;

you won't have a problem about clearing anything.

Weds SuperFins

5x114.3 - 16x8

2 piece rims

Price: $350.00

no tires

lips were re polished ***** (not true)

minor curb rash, no bends *****(this NO BENDS was a big issue)

vist link for more pictures:

http://img35.imageshack.us/i/weds3.png/
http://img132.imageshack.us/i/weds4.png/
http://img7.imageshack.us/i/wedsfc.jpg/

So I went to go check them out after work. (my fault because it was dark)
Went on his word that the rims only had curb rash and no bends/ dents. Sent numerous pm' on the condition of the rims.
I checked them out with a flashlight and asked him about 1 rim in particular cause it looked bent but he assured me it was just curb rash and shouldn't be a problem. Bought them....So I dropped them off afterwards to my friend who was going to repaint the centers for me. Shop closed on the weekend so I get a call monday and my friend tells me the rims are bent!!! I laughed and said no; I know they have curb rash. He yelled back and said they're bent. He brought them down to the shop and I put them on the balancing machine and holy crap 2 were warped big time....

I let this guy know about it and wanted a refund. He agreed to a refund. My friend told me I should take it to a rim repair place and see what they think first. So I did. Called up 3 shops and I thought no they're way too expensive. But I found another place and he said he could probably get them pretty straight and gave me a good price. So I went down there and showed him the rims. He said he could get them cleaned up pretty good and would try to make them straight as possible. So after getting the price I text messaged this guy and he agreed to give me a partial refund (100.00 which was less than half of the cost to fix) for getting the rims fixed.

I told him if he didn't want to then I would take them back with me and I would return them for a full refund, but he said he would give me the 100.00. He said he needed time to get the cash together so I said ok. Of course 2 weeks go by and nothing. I text message him and no response until I threatened to go on the forum and post my dealings with him. Then I get a text saying he is out of town. He was in Mexico and was flying back the nest day. Funny he texts me and tells me he's just arrived at LAX so I tell him I'm only 5 minutes away and to bring my money. Of course I don't get a text for 40 minutes then he texts that he only has a hundred something. So I tell him he only owes me 100.00. No text again for 45 minutes then he texts he's tired and would email me when he got home.
He texts me that night and wanted to know when I wanted to pickup the money. So now instead of him just coming by the shop which was 5 minutes away; I would have to drive 40 minutes to pick up my money. We made plans for me to pickup the money the next day at 9pm.

I have all the text messages that were sent between me and this guy........

I dirve the 40 minutes to get to his place and text him...no response....I text him 10 minutes later...no response. So now I call him after sitting outside 20 minutes and he doesn't pick up. I called him another 6 times and nothing. So I left him a message telling him he has till tomorrow to pay up and that I wasn't coming back out to his place. So I head home.
He calls me later that night and tells me he forgot and that he's at his gf's place. I told him to bring my money to the shop. I would be there from 7 am - 10 pm waiting for him. He said ok I'll be there around 11 am. Of course he doesnt' show up....He texts me around 12:30 and tells me he'll be by after class is over. He says he gets out at 5 pm. I said whatever I'm at the shop till 10 pm. No text, no call, no show.....

so the 2 that were repaired come out decent, but one stilll has a wobble and require 4oz of weights to balance out to 0.

I have all the PM's and all the text messages from the start of this deal; all 71 of them.....all his numbers and the address where the deal took place......

I just wanted to let the rotary community know about my dealings with this guy.

I can't believe I gave him a positive feedback, but that was before I knew how bad the rims were.......

I can change that can't I? Just beware.......

bad guy in my book.. you can actually see how warped it is in the first pic...

damn , thats really bad communication. Also you dnt tell some one that your gonna meet up and then not meet up..

has he responded to ya yet.?

I find this kinda strange. I am not trying to DEFEND anyone....I can only comment on my experience with cowboy troy.

I met him for the Enkei fins for my SE. We tried the wheels on my car and they did not fit so the deal did not go through. But I have to say communication was good. We chatted, we met up, he let me try on his wheels and when they did not fit, we parted ways. I had no problems with communication and texts and meeting up.

I am sorry for the hassle you are going through. I hope cowboytroy has a good excuse.

You're right.... communication was fine up to the time I bought them. Issues came up afterwards when I found out the rims were bent.....

So let me get this straight:

You've contributed absolutely NOTHING to this forum, then you sell one set of wheels and end up being a pain in the *** about it.

Sounds like you came out ahead, I'd recommend you spend more time on the forums where people will buy your parts

Cowboy troy, i saw what you said in your txt messages to to him... stop trying to act one way on the forum and say another in txt...

doesnt matter how much he bought it for. you promised good rims with some curb rash. yet the rims werent bent.

yes, theres always 2 stories to it.. but i saw what you wrote in all the txt messages.. which is a no no, because you said some stuff you should of kept to your self..

I dnt want to say anything, but i can say is, you are full of it .. and karma is bitch ...

so hopefully you do the right thing..

Which clearly wasn't good enough. You can't come around here selling garbage then offer to slide the buyer $100 and think all will be well. This community takes buying and selling very seriously, and when one party screws up they are expected to make it right to the best of their ability. If the buyer didn't want the $100 that you offered him to have it fixed, did you ever consider maybe something else would have helped? Judging by the tone of the OP, simply replying to him in a timely fashion probably would have avoided this whole nonsense.

And so that's your excuse? You're going to sell damaged items then claim that you have a life and go to school so you don't have time to stand by your product? We don't need sellers like that around here. Selling is a commitment you have to make, it's not something where you can conveniently duck out after taking someone's money and say "oh well I have a real life, it's just the internet...and your money, but it wasn't a lot of money anyway, so who cares? Quit being a *****." I mean really, that's what you sound like, and it pisses me off. There's no excuse to back out on your selling obligations after you've taken someone's money. None, nada, zero. I don't care if it's finals week. If you don't have the time to make it right, DON'T ******* SELL STUFF. People fork over their hard earned money to you and you expect them to just say "Ah well, he has a life, as long he's drinking on my dime..."
