Two weeks ago I bought a turbo monifold that this person was claiming was made by Greddy. When I received it it wasn't anything made by Greddy, it was fake. I tried to contact the guy who sold it to me but I'm getting no response. Since I paid through paypall I tried to open a claim with them, but they said that anything bought on forum should be somehow insured by the forum. Can you guys help me out?

 

First of all you need to provide a link to the for sale thread.

There is nothing insured by any forum. Paypal needs to start doing more for there customers instead of just taking their percentage.

I'm having a problem with him as well. He has received my money for the wing and his girlfriend supposedly sent it out last Monday. When I asked about a tracking number I got a message from him a day or two later saying that it got sent to the wrong address and he was having the shipment cancelled and would resend it as soon as he got it back.

He was online last night but somehow must have forgotten to send me the new tracking number. I sent him one PM asking for the message and a second one saying that I saw he had been online and I was beginning to get nervous about this. I wasn't aware that you could cancel a shipment once it was sent. Anyone have info on that?

Hopefully he'll contact me tonight and it will be ok. On the other hand, he can just send me my money back and I'll call it even.

Does anyone know him personally that could contact him or take care of things on a more local level?

 

Number one it was a real greddy manifold prove me wrong, and second I sent you exactly what you asked for with pics provided and tracking number so do question me what you bought. And heres goes tracking number that was sent to you on time like originally said I would and I did everything you asked me for so do question me about crap and try to give me negative feedback when I did as you told me too and sold you what you wanted.

rurx, can you post pictures of the manifold? Perhaps it is an older Greddy manifold or something that someone can verify.

fceeyah, I STILL have not received clear pictures of the RE Amemiya wing though I have asked a few times.

I WILL say that you did provide me with the tracking number shortly BEFORE you saw this thread, so that is a reassuring thing. It does not show as a valid number, but that is probably because it was just sent. I'll try it again tomorrow.

As I mentioned in the PM I just sent you, assuming the wing arrives and is exactly what you made it out to be, I will GLADLY make a formal apology here in this thread.

I don't believe that what I typed earlier is NEGATIVE feedback. I believe that it is CONCERN. Either way, if all goes well you'll have my apology in a week or so.

there is no reason to get angry because you have two customers who have concerns. They are not doing anything wrong by stating those concerns. No one came in here and shouted all kinds of insults at you, called you a crook or a scammer, etc etc etc, so please, let's not make this all dramatic. Selling parts anywhere means that eventually you will come across a customer who has concerns. it is up to you to address those concerns with the same amount of respect that they used when they voiced the concerns here.

Second, it is not up to your buyer to "prove you wrong". sorry, thats just a fact of selling. he voiced a concern that you falsely advertised a part. If what you shipped him is the real deal, it should be pretty simple to determine that. When you advertise something for sale, you and you alone are responsible for that. your buyer is not.

I would, however, like to know how the buyer determined that this is a fake part. it's hard to tell just by looking at one picture, the only picture I have found online of a Greddy manifold doesnt look exactly like this one, but that doesnt mean that they didnt make more than one version of it.

 

The package from fceeyah came today. This is a picture of what I was SUPPOSED to get.



Also, the wing was supposedly only used for "one drift event". The wing is a bit beat up for somehting used one time. Also, the brackets are NOTHING like what is in the picture. If it's brand new, shouldn't the original ones have been available to send to me as well?

I'll post pictures in a few minutes and let you all decide if I got what I thought I was buying from him. I'm sending him a message right after I send this to see what he has to say. More to come...

fceeyah hasn't been on the forum since the 21st. The number that was on the package he sent goes to voice mail. It never gets picked up.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not sure how Paypal would handle this since I sent him a deposit with one account and the balance with another. Anyone local to him?

 

I hope this gets resolved, otherwise he should be banned and actions taken further, especially if it is plastic.. that's just cheap to rip off people.

 

I agree wholeheartedly, obviously. Hard to get in touch with him when he doesn't sign on to the forum nor does he respond to the email sent to him through the forum.

Did you guys keep the tracking labels with his shipping address? Maybe you can confront him in person. What is his name? What has he told you about himself so far?

 

The shipping box is long since gone unfortunately. Besides that, he shipped it from a UPS store so I don't have his actual address anyway. Thought of that when I realized what had happened.

What you don't see if you don't go to the other forum is that JR (fceeyah/nopistons) blatantly posted that the mods over here PMed him privately to say that I'm full of **** and that I have no case against him. I guess he didn't think that I'd actually come back here and ASK them. One of them has denied it completely and I feel that the other is free of that claim as well.

I'm going to stay relatively quiet for a bit for the following reasons.

1) JR PMed me two days ago on vegasrotary.com to say that he would call me to "work this out" the next day. (He hasn't called yet)

2) The owner of vegasrotary.com called me personally to tell me that he is currently working on JR's car and that he would try to talk some sense into him.

3) Both mods that posted in my the complaint thread have both told me that they are now ACTIVELY looking into this.

Until all of the above fall through I'll pretty much stay quiet. I DID tell JR that if he makes this right that I would post a retraction saying that he did finally rectify things. At the same time I'll explain more of what has been going on.

We have pretty strict rules regarding proper forum signage for FS threads. Items for sale MUST have a picture of the item, with proper signage (forum name, date, and name of the forum)

I have locked and closed so many threads because people fail to follow those rules. Alot of people question rules like this too, saying its inconveniant or pointless.

This thread is a perfect example as to why we require signage photos. Prevents scamming, and ensures that the buyer is seeing what they are paying for.

 

I am one of the mods that Reese contacted about this. I assured him that I NEVER sent this seller a PM of any kind, and most especially not one that put the blame on the buyer. For those of you that know me, you know that when I have something to say about one of these deals it is posted right here in the thread. I dont sneak around about placing blame. For those of you who dont know me, just check or ask around and you will come to the same conclusion.

np. i realize this forum has way more For sale forums, and they are extremely active, and the forum population here probably isnt used to taking pictures of what they are selling with signage pics, so it might seem troublesome at first, but it really cuts down and prevents this kind of stuff.

 

Wow! I'd be PISSED if I bought what was advertised as a RE-A CF spoiler and got what was pictured here in this thread! Hopefully it all gets resolved..

That signage pics idea sounds like a GREAT idea!

 

JR finally called me yesterday. He called once and I didn't answer it because he blocked his phone number. When I finally spoke to him he said that although he doesn't believe he has done anything wrong in all of this, he will go ahead and pay me back a portion of my money.

I originally paid 300 plus $50 for shipping (total of $350) for this wing. He is going to Paypal me $300 and I will ship the wing back to him. Unfortunately, this is going to take him "between 5 and 6 months" to pay back because he is saying that he has no money due to recently having a baby and partially because me posting all of this is affecting him selling parts.

In the interim, I can only contact JR through PMs or by calling Chris Brown. He says he won't give me his phone number because he "has no idea if I'm going to call him a lot to bug him". In this situation I think that's ridiculous but what can I do? Hell, I can't even get him to tell me his first name for that matter...

Either way, I'm posting this here so that everyone can see what is going on, good or bad. If you have any questions about the situation, feel free to contact me through a PM.
