Bad Transaction with superjorden80

I purchased a set of Tein S-Tech lowering springs for an FD Rx7 from him for $175 shipped. He's located in Cali, I'm in Ontario, Canada.

Here's a link to the F/S thread: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-rx-7-1993-2002-parts-99/tein-shocks-suspensions-oem-shocks-tokico-aluminas-battery-relocation-door-lock-907241/

Payment was sent via Paypal on June 10th. He sent me a tracking number. It was for some other package that was heading to Wheat Ridge, CO, not for me.

Here's a copy of the PM's sent back and forth:

Actually, I found another smaller box which fit all four if you don't mind having original box. Cause if I ship with original box, then i'll have to double box it (sicne the orginal not safe to ship the way it is anyway) which take more space which mean more shipping cost.

I'll take $175 (with my box, still secure but safe spaces). It's your choice, so let me know.

My Paypal's Johnnydao@tdnetwork.com. I'll ship it to you as soon as payment clear. Making sure you follow the forum rule when sending payment. And of course, I would do the same.

Johnny

Matt,

I'm so sorry!..I have the package ready. But haven't ship it out yet. Working kinda tight, I tried to get off early. Even on Ebay's stuff that I sold. Couldn't even ship it out yet. You can check on Autorx7g as seller. Timing is so conflict. I'll try my best for today. Else, i'll ask my friend for tomorrow to ship it out for me.

Hey man, don't worry, i'm not in a huge rush. I also don't get too bent out of shape about this kind of thing. Stuff usually takes forever to get across the border, and I probably won't be able to tear into the suspension until at least the weekend after this one anyway. As long as it gets here in one piece... or 4 actually, and I'm not waiting a month, then it's all good.

If you don't mind, i'd appreciate the 'gift' check box, and a description of used car springs to try and cut down on the duty. It's worth a shot, anyway.

Matt

Not to be rude, but it's been over a week since payment was sent, and I didn't get a reply to my last pm. I would like a tracking number early this week please. I'm starting to get uneasy about the transaction at this point.

Matt

Johnny,

I see you've logged on to the forums but you haven't responded to my pm's. I am losing patience. Please get this package shipped out and send me a tracking number. If you can't do this in a timely fashion, then kindly refund my money through paypal. We're going on 10 days since I sent funds, and don't have an item, a tracking number, and I'm being ignored.

If this continues, I'll post in the f/s thread, and the feedback forum.

Matt

Hey Matt,

Sorry for the delay, I was busy lately...

Yes!..I took off early of work to have it ship out same day for you. The box only have a damaged one of the corner..and USPS don't accept the package.

So I have to ship it via FedEx ground yesterday since I couldn't get off work early 'til yesterday. Such that when time conflict with my schedule.

Here's the tracking number via FedEx 468865110353053

I didn't expected that to happen..but please understand my situations.

Yeah. i've been there done that. I have no patient at all whenever I was working on my FD and waiting for parts to arrive. But yeah!..definitely wanna see if you have a chance to send me some pics. I'll work on another FD may be end of this year if I don't have to travel to foreign countries for work.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

Johnny

[This tracking number was for a package sent to Wheat Ridge CO, not to my address.]

Finally, I and another forum member in B.C. get the following response, on July 4th

Matt

Shaun,

I don't wanna make up an excuses with you. Fact is that I have issue transfering $ from you and other buyer in canada....I don't know why it didn't transfer when other buyes in domestic are fine...All my buyers from domestic have been shipped out since everything cleared...I have a big dispute with PayPal's in weeks and they still let me wait. They also ask for my social #.. I provided everything...I'm getting so pissed when I have to delay shipping to my buyers without an explanation.

I have packaging packed and ready to ship...but with this issue...as unconfirmed address...I have to wait it clear. If PayPal's won't resolve this issue by this week..I'll ask them to return the $ for you two. Wondering why they so strict for foreign...I would be glad for you two to come and pick it up if you live locally. The parts that I wanna sell are just wanna pass on to FD'er that I appreciated.

I don't blamed on you two...or nor me...Thing is that I have to deal with PayPal's every freak'in day...such an hassle...plus, when I have to ship it out..I have to take off work early or spend my lunch time.

Sorry for any inconveniece,

Johnny

p.s...I'll have this same explaination for my other buyer.

I have never had an issue like this with cross-border paypal transactions before. This late in the game, it's starting to smell like something fishy's going on. It's not just me that's having problems. Fortune_Seven is located in British Columbia and is getting the same run-around. I might have thought that it could possibly be legit, except for superjorden80 saying in one pm that the package had been sent out, and 'here's the tracking number', and then a number of days later finally responding that he never sent it out, and that paypal was giving him trouble.

Which is it? let's get the truth out in the open, and either complete the transaction, or refund the buyers' money.

Matt

I'm having the same issue Matt is having, thread: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=907241.

My correspondance with superjorden80 goes as follows:

Let's make it fair for you and me. We go between $85. If you live locally, I would love to have you pick it up.

My PayPal's is Johnnydao@tdnetwork.com...If you pay with PayPal's..just making sure you are verified.

Thanks,

Johnny

The transaction was completed on the 16th of June, no update of any kind until what I perceive to be a blatant lie today. Superjorden80 aka Johnny Dao is out to rip people off and lie about it in my opinion.

Azriel thanks for the comments, hopefully we will meet when all is said and done

Alex this guy is such a piece of work. I picture him to be very similar to the guy you had to deal with. Not sure how scum like this guy get through life.

After providing no updates etc. until the above listed, saying he hasn't shipped anything, he goes and posts this to Paypal in an attempt to try and keep the funds:

7/5/2010 08:08 PDT - Seller: Item have been shipped or in stransit via usps Parcel's post. Item either mislocated or lost to Canada. Buyer should claim through usps for lost package.

Hey Johnny Dao! not sure how you think your going to get away with this. Especially as it involves the added severity of funds crossing an international border. Have you heard of international bank fraud? ready to become intimately familiar with the consequences?

The FBI loves to hear about idiots like you Johnny Dao, thieves that lie and try to steal peoples honestly earned money. Johnny if your reading this which I'm sure you are. Here is the next step: http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Save yourself now before it gets worse for you. Refund Matt's money. Refund mine. And stop trying to rip people off.

first off, if I recall right, the SELLER has to file the claim since the SELLER is the one who shipped the package. He would have all the receipts showing that he shipped the packages out, and he is the one that would have to get that ball rolling.

Second, I would respond to paypal with the PM or email, whichever one it was that he sent on July 4, showing where he clearly stated that he has NOT shipped out these parts yet. There is NO WAY that he could have shipped out the parts after that 7/4 communication and have them being lost in Canada in transit now, only two days later. Contact paypal ASAP and inform them of this--they need to know that he's trying to pull a fast one. If he really did ship, he should have tracking numbers....and so far I didnt see any.

Also, I locked his FS thread and am waiting to hear back from him as we speak. I'm working on this one, guys.....I will be keeping up with what happens here. Any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.

If either of you used a credit card through PayPal, I would suggest putting a stop payment on the transaction ASAP. If the funds came directly from your bank accounts, you'll have to go through PayPal to attempt resolution. "It got lost" is not something they should fall for, so once the dispute gets scrutinized, they should be able to refund you and charge the seller.

yeah, the only problem with that is if he's already removed the funds from his paypal acct, paypal can't go into his bank account and retrieve them. I've already had that problem once with a bad seller before. If he' staken the money out, it's gone.

While this is true, what you DO now have is proven intent to defraud--he is lying out his back side to paypal in an attempt to try to cover his tracks. You would now have enough to contact the police in his area and file criminal charges for theft and fraud. If it comes to that, you already have all the info you need to show what has taken place here. Whatever you do, do NOT delete any of the PMs or emails....you may need them.

Good luck trying to get resolution through Paypal. I purchased something off of a forum board, and when it arrived, it was missing critical pieces. After the seller refused to respond to my emails/PMs, I filed a dispute with Paypal to recoup my loss. Paypal called two days later and politely told me that since it wasn't purchased thru an Ebay auction... there was nothing they could do to help me. If they do anything for you other than blow smoke up your @ss, give me the case number and details. I will go toe to toe with them again. Hope this scumbag does the right thing.

I understand paypal tries to protect people and there is only so much they can do. but I honestly dont understand why people are so keen on using them for payment. It really wouldnt be hard to rip someone off using paypal from the seller and from the buyers point. sellers could provide a bogus tracking number and keep the byer on a hook till the funds clear there paypal account and make it to the bank. which usually hapens faster than a packeage can arrive (especially for international shipping). Then the buyer is screwed. On the other hand which by the way i had a guy try to do to me. the buyer filed a claim because he didnt realize he had to pay for shipping and got pissed so he said he never recieved the motor I sold him and then lied to paypal saying that i didnt send it so he tried to keep his money. i responded quickly and sent paypal the reciept from fedex and also a copy of his signature when he took delivery. i was awarded the funds and he was pissed but he shouldnt have tried to lie saying that he never got it when he did.

There is no end to human greed.

fortune_seven, he did the same thing to me, and pulled the lost in transit thing... but then provided paypal with a tracking number through USPS...
I think his lack of response to this whole thing indicates that it's going to be another attempt at screwing us over.

Does anyone know how long you have from the transaction date to file a chargeback with your credit card?

oh, and it gets even better, the tracking number he provided to paypal is invalid

Doesn't really work that way 6port, but would be nice if it did. This is more about exposing a slime ball, and making sure he gets what is coming to him, I'm sure you can relate.

FBI will only handle transactions over $200,000 USD. if thats not proof the government only protects the rich then I dont know what could prove it.

First off, stop crapping on the thread.

Second off, you had better check your tone. This place isnt your personal playground.

If you have to be told again to grow up, you will be told with a ban. Do I make myself clear?
