RE-Speed lack of communications
Boy do I miss Billy. Ok I ordered the big brake kit for an FB on 8-10-12. After 2 weeks and multiple emails via the contact page on re-speeds website, I finally emailed Sam directly. He replied and said the web page mail is not working, ( I think if my web mail for my business didn't work I would get it fixed, quick) He apologized and said the parts were being made and should be back by the end of the week and would ship out and I should have them by the end of next week. (that being last Friday) Well over the weekend I emailed again, and then emailed again on Monday. Still no word on if and when the parts will ship. Its a true shame that some of these parts are only available from re-speed. Has anyone else had this much trouble getting parts. I would think that even if they had to be made, a month should be plenty of time.

Un-satisfied customer here too.
I've dealt with Sam numerous times because he's local to me (1 hour drive away).
I'm building 2 FB's for very good customers of mine and have been using alot of Re-speed parts on both cars, I explained to Sam 3 months ago that I needed a fuel cell for the one FB and I needed it for the end of Aug as I was pushing to get the car done for the customer.
He told me it shouldn't be a problem at the begining of July.....well now its the Sept and after several attempts to contact him over the last 2 months to see how progress was coming along, still no reply.
I've pm'd through the forum here, texted severalll times throughout July, phoned his cell and left voicemail, nothing.

BTW when or if you recieve your brake kit, you'll find Sam's re-designed brackets dont fit. He has positioned the bracket so its impossible to use the correct length bolt to attach the caliper.
The bolts he supplies with the kit only have 3-4 threads of engagement and I had to bend the bracket in towards the brake rotor to even get it to clear the shock tube.
As a certified mechanic, an M12 bolt with 3-4 threads of engagement does not sit right with me. This does hold your brake calipers on!

yours are upside down and backwards. those lips he welded on there are sposed to eliminate the need for washers. I acually use a 4mm washer on my older model and was forced to mount the caliper on the rear because it wouldnt fit on the front.
I started a thread a month ago putting Sam on blast trying to get customers needs attended to. I think he is either overwhelmed or just lost interest. But until I hear from Sam, I will reserve judgement

I sent Sam these exact pictures and he said thats the way it should be mounted.
If the brackets are mounted the other way (to the rear) you'd need and even shorter bolt to try and mount the caliper and it still does not change the minimal thread engagement.

Well i have given up on getting my order. I spent a grand Including postage on lower control arms, shocks, rear coils and adjusters. I received the shocks in 2 weeks. Ntohin else.. that was june 5th. Ive now finished my car and cant wait any longer for the goods. Sam was supposed to come back with some tracking info - Fail. i suggested to jump on and explain his dramas but clearly couldnt be bothered. I think you nailed it hes lost interest but id go further and say he just plain doesnt give a crap. Im totally over the re-speed experience.. all i can say at this point is its a huge shame for other members and customers who have trusted in a business that clearly is on the decline.

Well not because of this, but he did finally send me and email last friday and say that the parts had shipped. Still waiting to get them, he also mentioned sending a tracking, that I have not gotten.
Tired of waiting.

i strongly advise anyone who is considering buying from this buisness to not do so. I wont be getting my money back i know this its to late.. i cant even contact the bloke to resolve it which boils my blood.. words cant describe the feeling of getting burnt over what i thought was a safe and wise purchase. i just urge other people to not make the same mistake i did!!

I bought the rx2 rear disk brake conversion from them and paid the extra shipping fee so I can have it here within 3 days but it still took a month to get it here.i emailed him and he replied with giving me the shipping cost refund but never got it.now from watching this I guess I was lucky enough to receive my parts.seem to be a good company before, not so much anymore.

I have used Sam a ton for my car and have only ever had the best service from him. He is a great guy and an upstanding business owner. I feel like one incident is being blown out of proportion.

Sam has always treated me very well. A month or two ago I was helping a friend with his Project FB. We were missing a piece of the steering kit that got lost in the shuffle between shops. Sam had a new piece out to me in no time flat and was always prompt on responses to questions.
I last spoke to him just a few weeks ago, though I missed out on attending the BBQ at his shop. Last I heard business was busy but good.
PM either the Re-Speed.com user or his personal account dj55b and see where that gets you. Otherwise, the contact info on his web page (link below) is good. His cell number is listed there, though his provider has been sketchy about delivering texts in a timely manner.
SHQE Manufacturing / RE-Speed
84stock, I disagree with the comparison to rotaryshack. Robert was always an ***, and while I don't feel like digging up all that old crap, I do want to put my voice towards the fact that Sam has always been a stand-up guy in my interactions with him. Hopefully these issues will get resolved soon.

jon contact has been made far more the required. Email, txt, facebook, pm., personally Im pretty tired of it. 4 months on my goods arent here i have no tracking info and re-speed have made it clear they arent concerned about it. International orders i thought are mandatory with tracking? Anyway i just booked my car for a dyno and its goin nextdoor for the control arms. Nothing like payn for things twice lol

s1rx are you from the states or from down under? As shipment between Canada and New Zealand and Australia are a mess and I have had to wait 6 months without a tracking number because it went through regular mail and once it transfers postal services it is impossible to get an answer. just an fyi
