I rebuilt an engine. I used 10 corner seal plugs from Atkins and 2 from Mazda (yes I can be strange like that sometimes).

The engine ran for 3 minutes, then I opened it again. The 10 plugs from Atkins were completely destroyed and 2 from Mazda were completely new.

I placed another order from Atkins and I clearly wrote (at least 4 times) that I want:
  • OEM water seal jackets
  • OEM corner seal plugs
  • OEM rear main seal
They charged me an extra $20 to get these parts OEM. That's pretty good so I placed the order.

I received everything last week. The parts came in bags with blue and white Mazda tags. Wonderful!

I just discovered that one of my corner seals had to be changed, so I went to the local dealership and ordered one. It came with the corner seal plug.

I could compare directly the OEM plug from the local dealership with the Atkins OEM plug.

I don't wanna complain here about the bad quality of corner seal plugs. My concern is the fact that I paid extra money to get OEM plugs and they sent me "their OEM" plugs but with the Mazda tag in the Ziploc bag.

That is pure FRAUD and I don't understand how they can get away with this.

I'd like to provide some information about my experience with atkins. I bought all OEM apex, corner seals with the inserts. All were in individual translucent\cloudy clear bags, heat sealed no zip lock thingy with the Mazda part paper info stapled to each bag. Except the mazda label was not blue\ white but instead black\white. What was odd to me is some of the corner seal rubber inserts look exactly like what you showed above. Some had that little indent with more rounding on the corners and the others were smooth, it certainly made me pause. But being that they appeared to be sealed I took them as Mazda OEM. I would like to order a single corner seal etc just to compare from my local dealer.??? I dunno

I put down $2500 in new bushings from Atkins a year ago. After reading this this thread i also specified in the «message» field that i wanted OEM parts only. And thats pretty much what i got.

(Unless it was a straight up forgery with fake mazda labels, which is a crime)

When i got the box they had «mislabeled» the value and forgott the last zero, saving me $500 in import tax.

My experience with them is nothing but good on all accounts

Why gamble?

www.mazdatrix.com

is right here, and without a reputation of putting lesser quality parts in a Mazda bag and charging full price for them.
