Tanks and hoses
Tanks and hoses
I want to run 100% meth (currently I am running 50/50 meth water).
But I have an issue, and that is I am not comfortable storing pure meth in a washer fluid container.
MY car is an FC so I have a very large area where the spare tire used to be that is at least 20" wide x 6" by 15" tall. So its tall and thin.
Does anyone know where I can get an off the shelf methanol compatible fuel cell?
Assuming I can't find a fuel cell the obvious choice would be to make a tank out of stainless steel, but stainless steel is expensive.
What about making a tank out of 1/8th in or thicker (maybe 1/4in) aluminum and coating the inside with something?
Where to find a meth resitant coating that would coat the inside of the tank?
Next, I am not comfortable with nylon lines, so from the get go I am using fuel injection line at $5 per foot. I don't know if its meth compatible, but good year advertises it as being compatible with 100% ethanol with a test strength of 900 PSI.
But is there something better?
Perhaps SS coated teflon lines?
Any input is appreciated.

run 100% meth/// it's magic
not comfortable storing pure meth in a washer fluid container./// you just made the correct decision.
where I can get an off the shelf methanol compatible fuel cell?/// i settled on one of the "Jaz" brand fuel cells which came w anti slosh foam and a serious filler cap etc. i use the 4 gallon cell and it is in my wheel well. there are a couple of pics in my earlier stickied install threads//
not comfortable with nylon lines/// i wasn't either so i ran aeroquip on my Alkycontrol system. after talking w FJO i decided to at least examine what they use for their kits. i am impressed w the serious nature of the fittings. they indicate they have had no problems relating to lines. i retained the AeroQ line from my fuel cell to the pump (see install pics) and use the FJO lines forward of the pump. in areas where there was any possible chafing i merely used spiral wrap so i am content w the lines. i haven't fired it up and of course will monitor this carefully from the getgo. the lines snap perfectly into a spare location i have next to the brake and fuel lines and as such are well protected. so far FJO has made me a believer and i had been in the other camp w you. we will of course see how it goes.
you are going to love the meth.
good luck,
howard
