congratulations!

490 is a really big number on a turbo that only makes 60-61 pounds of air.

what boost? any knock and afr numbers on the run?

what clutch are you running?

maybe there is something to this alcohol thing

Yep I'm curious to know, too. Did you say you were using C16 with an addition of denatured alcohol? What %? Did you by chance log or watch EGT's? I'd love to know all of this stuff. What about your injector duty cycles, etc?

the boost was approxmately 25 PSI, dropping to about 19.5. The AFRs were 11.1 ish across the board, and there was NO indicated knock. The clutch is an ACT Street/Strip extreme PP with a full face organic disk.

Yeah, we were using C-16 for additional insurance in case there was a tuning error. Of course there wasnt, but it was nice to have anyways. I dont log or watch EGTs, because they become sort of superfluous once you start using Alch/Meth. Plus I just dont want to know...

The IDC's maxed out at around 82-85% somewhere in there with 720 pri and 1680- secs on a Whinebro fuel pump..

So, what was the actual fuel mix? It sounds as if you were running primarily fuel with a little bit of alcohol on top of it according to the duty cycles. Am I off on this?

Rat doesn't run that much denatured. I'm pretty sure he has a single 7 GPH nozzle on his SMC kit. I keep telling him to at least upgrade to a pair of 7's or make the switch to a redesigned HUGE methanol setup. Problem is a new meth setup is kinda expensive...especially if you have to fab a NHRA legal box in the hatch area for a big reservoir.

His base fuel pressure is lower than normal too so that contributes to a decently high IDC's. What is it...like 35-36 psi base Rat?

I like the IDC's right where they're at. Mid 80's at absolute max boost is good stuff. It makes the cruise and idle that much easier to fine tune.

After the turbo upgrade we'll need to turn up the fuel pressure...problem is that's just going to make the single Walbro run out of steam even quicker.

VIVA LA C16!!!!

Great stuff, Trevor. From what I can tell, the actual amount of alcohol that's being used to replace fuel isn't very much, but needless to say I am sure it was a help. Good job.

nice numbers, i am opting for a methanol kit myself rather than water/alcohol.

though i would like to see the numbers on pure pump gas with the auxiliary injection.

his base fuel pressure was 28 last i saw unless he raised that for this setup. 28psi is stock fuel pressure and helps with cranking, mine is 40 at idle and tends to flood like a **** if i'm not careful.

j rat,

i was just reviewing your post to see how far you were from the new prestigious 500 on PUMP-AI CLUB...

maybe in 07 you'll ditch the racegas and get it done. i had a thought. apparently you are running a single M7 441 CC/MIN nozzle? ditch it and run two M10s for 1260 CC/MIN. it will drop your IDC which will very quickly get into the 90% range if you start making another 50 hp. what turbo do you run?

To be honest, I will probably never try to exceed 500 on pump gas.
