Intercooler Spray

I have a make shift inter cooler sprayer set up that works off my water injection system , a separate solenoid , operated by another ECU output is used to turn it on and off ,this is done based on preset boost levels , vehicle speeed and intake temperature , it does its job , but is a bit crude , (it consists of a pair of aquamists' nozzles "T eed" off the single water supply) I am upgrading my intercooler and would like to improve its (the sprayers) design and make it some thing like those oval shaped nitrous intercooler spray bars , anyone design and make something or even buy a sprayer like that ? or anyone know where I might be able to find nozzles that wwould be suitable for this use ?

Nocab72 and I did some testing with it. We used alm. tubing with very fine/thin holes punched into spraying on the FMIC. We used CO2 and the funny stuff too. Went so far as to design a way to momentarily shift the PFC map to one to take advantage of the big drop in IAT. The gases we used froze the outside of the FMIC very quickly and made a significant change in IAT...quicker than the sensor could respond. We one the first ones to publicly proclaim the need in shifting the IAT sensor out of the stock heatsink (UIM) into someplace else. We also looked into changing out the IAT sensor for a faster acting one.

Not sure how much of a change in the IAT you are going to get with water at ambient temps. We were shooting for sub-ambient and fairly quickly.

Hello Marcel,

I hope you are well. I can see that you are still playing.

We have finally made a spray bar, you can see it here:

Marcel,

Thank you, I am fine, alive and kicking. still struggling with our forum. The VBulletin just won't work with our old database, I don't really want to start from new. I am not the sole own of aquamist, just the working one.

The Auxilliary Injection section is like a war zone, I will wear a bullet-proof vest before entering. I will post there for sure. I shoudl have a bit some free time next months. I don't want to start until I can answer a post pretty quickly, I can see it is a very fast moving section.

How is the DDS3 working?

PS which one do you want? The blonde or dark hair one?

Good , we need you around for a while ..... as for tha A.I section , I am very cautious ,I mostly read since I am never in the mood for a fight , there are lots of misconseptions , incorrect information , unsubtantiated claims and self opinionated people , as you know I've been dabling in it (WI) for a while , I always have a contribution to make , but I'm just not willing to walk through the flames ,I feel a bit sad for the new guys who are tryiung to get into it, and wouldnt benefit from everyounes contributions.
My DDS3 works great , its fully integrated with my ECU , I've tested it a few times (involuntarily too ) and it does what its supposed to , my motor is nice and safe !
As for the one I want ...., well I'll take them both if t're willing !! , I dont discriminate ! ...... , but seriously though , I WANT one of your IC spray bars , where can I get it ? , just for your info my IC's core is 28" long and 4" thick the whole IC is 35" long , lemme know soon ?

The IC spraybar comes in two lengths, 20" (3 jerts) or 30" (four jets) - as in the video. The spray can cover up to 36".

email me on richard@aquamist.co.uk

Here is a close up, check before purchase. Do you have a large enough water tank to feed it?
