injector location

I've been installing an AEM system on my stock RX-7. I have not yet attempted to drill/tap anywhere for the injector. I know I'm going to put it somewhere after the intercooler. Is there an optimal place? I was thinking that the more space between the injection point and the UIM would allow more time for the cooling effect. Just looking for a tip otherwise I will just stick closer to the intercooler outlet.

I asked a similar question in my thread here.
https://www.rx7club.com/auxiliary-injection-173/nozzle-vs-ait-sensor-placement-water-only-setup-828699/

This was Howard's response which is what I followed as closely as possible. I ended up mounting in the TB elbow since I could tap it and screw in the injector. I had to concede a bit and mount it a couple of inches closer to the TB than I would have ideally liked, but it helped with line routing and general ease of use by a bunch.

either in the silicone coupler just in front of the elbow or in the first 2 longitudinal

That is a huge help. I will likely do the same thing as you did.

My system is mostly for added knock protection and cleaning. My car is a stock aside from a downpipe and I'll be keeping it at stock boost levels. I'm just going to have one nozzle and it will be after the intercooler.

So would you guys recommend getting the Greddy elbow w/flange if you were going to buy an elbow anyway? This would be good for a one injector set up.
It seems to be better in some way than mounting it in the silicon coupler before the elbow.
But I would in no way suggest anything other than what HC says, he knows his ****

You might as welll get one with the bung because you can always plug it. I would try to put the injector further upstream if possible. I drilled and tapped my stock plastic pipe a closer to the middle.

Further upstream would mean that the mixture would be atomized a bit better before hitting the throttle body?

Pre turbo.

Whether your using it for knock prevention, cleaning or IAT pre turbo is THE BEST.

I'm a noob when it comes to AI so all the info I get is from reading HC's threads. He has his injector location post-IC before the elbow.
Is there a pre-turbo location vs elbow location thread you fellows can direct me towards? (dont mean to thread jack)

Dont know if their is a thread.

I have tried both. Pre turbo works much better. My experience is more focused on water. NOT meth.

The spray would have more time in contact with the air so more time to cool it. I don't know if a few inches is going to make a difference.
