AI with 91 octane?

All the threads I've seen regarding AI have been with 93 octane...anybody using 91? It sucks to be in CA.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

one of the things about using alcohol as an injectant is that you can use as much as you want... currently i have taken almost 40% of the pump out of my base fuel map and have replaced it w methanol. the more 91 you take out the better. methanol is around 110 octane and has a 160 degree higher autoignition temperature than gasoline so it is mucho less likely to knock.

in a 91 octane enviornment alcohol is heaven. plus for all you clean air people out in ca alcohol has less carbon so it emits less pollutants. yippee.

Our kits were designed on 91 octain. If I recall correctly you have one of our kit from 3 years ago. We started out in California, so 91 was all we had to work with.

If I had to bet one way or another I would say there are more methanol injection kits running on CA 91 than on any other fuel as California is by far the largest single market.

same thing.. the only difference is 2 octane points, the AI is what is doing the work to raise the octane anyways.

nice job Howard, now all the newbies are gonna come in here asking simple questions giving me migraines.

yea, but I sold it shortly thereafter for financial reasons so I didn't get to use it.
