I tried a dual in tank as well....that thing was so hard to get in the tank. I finally took it out and decided to just do a surge tank which has worked wonderful!

Same here. Dual in tank 044's was a pain and you still have the horrible inherent deficiencies of the stock fuel tank, maybe worse with the dual 044's. I am referring to the FD fuel tank. Moving the dual 044's to a surge tank was the best thing I could of done. No fuel issues at all even if I go full throttle and I am pretty much on empty! It was actually easy to do also. I was going lean previously a little under half a tank.

^ Agreed.

I had fuel starvation issues while on track with approximately a half of a tank left (making left turns), so I am moving to a surge tank setup as well.

The setup is probably good for a drag car or a street car but not a track car.

Every thought about Sumping the factory tank?

Sweet when do you plan to install and start tuning with it? I wont be messing with E85 untill about June. Until then it will just be plain old 93 pump for me.

Sumped tanks are not ideal for cars that see the road course as we make left and right turns all of the fuel will slosh to one side. In a straight line they are fine though. One would have to setup a baffling system with flaps for it to be successful.

I have noticed if you use push lock fittings and the nylon hose, make sure you check the fittings once in awhile. The E85 will dry this stuff up and make it expand causing leaks.
When you are putting your hose togeather, make sure you butt it up to the fitting.

RXTASY57 & RXTASY57,

I am curious as to how you integrated your Flex Fuel sensors? A GM Flex Fuel sensor for example will only flow about 200 LPH MAX and dual 044's will easily outflow the sensor. I am guessing fuel pressure will raise then lower as flow decreases. Basically you may experience strange fuel pressure behavior.

I actually have a -8 to 2x -6 y fitting off the regulator with one going through the Flex sensor and joining back to another Y for the -8 run under the car to the Surge Tank.

Just wondering if either of you have accounted for this or if you even thought it was necessary.

Here's my fuel pump set up. 3 in tank Bosch 044's in my FD tank. Custom made hanger and hat (just copied the stock one and made it out of aluminum to be able to hold all 3 pumps).

You have to assemble it in the tank, hard but it's easy once you get used to doing it. These pics are all before it was anodized. Running E85 in my setup. Oh and the factory fuel gauge still works.

Each pump feeds its own fuel rail. 2 rotor full bridge making 810 RWHP @ 23 psi on E85 only.

Fuel rails are:
primary with ID 2000's
Secondary with Bosch 1680's
Third rail with Bosch 1680's

Nice afawaterpolo! I tried running two pumps in tank, but gave up.....I have big hands. Couldn't assemble anything like that in such a small space.
Flex Fuel sensor goes in the return line, not the feed line.

Sounds like splitting it off the return line is a good way to go.
I haven't installed mine yet, but I think that is what I will do to ensure stable fuel pressure. That is pretty small pipe.

I installed mine (haltech sensor; same as GM sensor) using 2 044 pumps and the stock return line (in an FD)and it holds stable fuel pressure. However, I only have about 20 miles on the setup so we shall see how it performs in the long run. I need to update the firmware in the PS2k so I can see if it is working properly.

The line going through the flex fuel sensor is -6 and has very little restriction, I don't think a splitter is necessary.

Did you just use hose clamps?

Where did you guys mount your sensors? I was thinking by the fuel tank, but the wiring would be a long run.
Guess I better get ready for my E85 bath! Everytime I work with the fuel setup, I get drenched!

I mounted mine by the driver rear wheel near the break lines. I need some damn ECU pins to finish the wiring.

Actually doesn't create as much HP lbs. for lbs. as gas, but is very hard to detonate so you can run more boost to compensate or in my case, overcompensate

All castor oils should mix with alcohol. Benol works well, but has a strong smell when it burns.
