Newest EMS-4, anyone using this yet?
Seen the newest AEM product, the EMS-4. Seems very simple, inexpensive, and straight-forward. Anyone have any experience yet?

I'm with EB. 2500 cc/min is a lot of fuel for most builds. If you must use a different injector, my experience with resistors has not been good. The peak and hold injectors want a lot of current to open properly. When they don't get it with a resistor, they get sluggish and non-linear. The high ohm options are now too good to use resistors.

so if i get this aem ems4 and drop it into my non running s4 body, that has a full (from head light to tail light) s5 wire harness with an s5 TII motor in the bay i can turn the key after minor wiring?

Depends on how you implement the wiring of the EMS4. If you splice it in or make a PnP adapter harness then yes. If you make a new harness, no. There are also some conversion sensors and such. Coolant temp, air temp and modify the trailing coil. Also the electric S5 omp will not be able to be driven by the EMS4. If the electric omp is something you want to retain you will need a 30-6050 series II ecu.

If you are looking to switch away from a PnP PFC a better option would be to switch to a 30-1800 Series I AEM(discontinued, new old stock or second hand only), Series II with PnP adapter(Here) or one of the modified adapter board Series II ecus(Here).
The EMS-4 will require an adapter or a new engine harness. Plus the EMS-4 is limited with 4 inj and 4ign outputs. It also has a very limited amount of I/O's and no provision for OMP control. The EMS-4 really shines in single turbo, no OMP, "simple" builds.

If somebody knows what part # injectors I need that'd be great. I had a hard time getting solid info from Deatschwerks which I really want to go with.
Which one is direct fit and already compatible with the AEM units? I couldn't find one that would work.

As for ignition, I will be using the same coils that come on the FC, or I might get fancy and but the AEM "Smart Coils"(30-2853) so there is no need to get an Ignitor.
And you can definetly calibrate the EMS to read any sensor but I don't have the tools to do it. Plus I honestly see it as a waste of time, especially since I don't work at a shop. It's just my little project.
BUT does anyone know what injectors are out there that are a direct fitment as far as bolting on and High Impedance so I don't have to get a driver?!

As far as the coolant sensor, we stock them.
Injector Dynamics are what we use and recommend for any application and they happen to all be high impedance. They may cost more than a similar injector from another source, but you're assured of the quality and fit for stock or custom rails.

So I already ordered all the parts I will be using and should be able to post up all the sensors, injector, and any other parts numbers of what I got.
I'm going through the AEM Tuner and messing around with it before diving into this.
I'm having trouble setting up the MAP sensor calibrations. I cannot find a proper calibration in the Sensor Wizard for the MAP sensor I'm using.
I decided to go with the AEM Failsafe Wideband, which offers a O2 sensor output(for which I'm using the AEM In-Line calibrations) and a MAP output
I cannot find out how to custom make the sensor calibrations to match what AEM offers in the set up manual for the Failsafe(p.17)
Wideband Failsafe Gauge PDF
What looks to be the closest setting I found was the Mopar 3 bar map sensor calibration.
If anybody knows how I can calibrate the sensor myself, please let me know.

As a side note I don't know how much AEM will recommend using the FSWB's analog output for the EMS-4 MAP sensor input. When talking to them in the past they don't even recommend their brass MAP sensors.
For a base map you will most likely be on your own. Limited inputs and outputs makes setting up the base cal really easy. It will be easier then getting a base map from someone else, hoping the outputs are the same or having to go back through their work making sure everything is correct. These are universal systems and there is no common wiring(GPIO) for them. Each person can make their own setup.

Thanks for the input/tips EB, I'll be hitting up AEM then and see what they think about using the FSWB for the MAP output. If anything I might try to figure out a way to get a table set up for the stock 15psi MAP sensor, or break down and buy the AEM 3.5 bar unit.

So I got a crazy fast response on the AEM forums regarding the MAP output from the FSWB. And sure enough its not recommended. It's should basically work but there might be some driveability issues due to the fact that there will be a bit of delay from the cushion of air between the manifold and the gauge.
I'll probably be ordering the MAP sensor later today and hopefully my parts will come trough pretty soon.
Once that's handled, I still need to figure out how to set up the crank angle sensor signal and how to stage the ignition coils. FML.
