Just the Select ECUs at this stage... So not WARI, but the ECU.

So that:

1) you can read the wideband AFR via the ECU and it can use it for closed loop
2) you can display any of the ECU variables that PLX will let us on their displays (eg boost/vacuum etc).

Early days still, I just got the hardware....

Subscribing.

I'm excited about this! I'm one of many who already have the PLX wideband and DM-6 gauge. Will be very awesome to see what kind of parameters you will be able to show on the DM-6.

subscribed,, have been looking closely at the PLX mulitgauge, wideband and exhaust temp monitoring systems myself this week .. very nearly went money down already
( though for the haltech car.. the adaptronic one is a fair way off with body work )

Yes I have, I signed an NDA, they sent me the data, I need to implement it.

One reason I go to SEMA every year is to talk to people like this!

OK, so I've managed to get it working, ie the first 20% of the job. Some of the variables don't read correctly so I need to fix that; I don't know how to change the PLX into metric units and I still need to implement the vacuum / boost so that it displays correctly (they couldn't just have a MAP display which automatically switches between boost and vacuum).

I also haven't implemented the PLX wideband input yet, and I haven't implemented a mode to read the Innovate input and output PLX on the same port, if that makes sense (so you can still use the other port for other things). So I need to do both of those.

The other thing that makes it difficult is that PLX haven't really included the things you'd normally include in their gauge, in their gauge. It needs a regulated 8V supply, a regulated 3.3V supply, and the serial data isn't RS232. They provide you with a 8V regulator but it has to be wired up. Also they use 3.5mm for the comms, whereas Innovate (and we) use 2.5mm, and the RX/TX are opposite as well (Murphy's law).

So I (or someone!) is going to have to design a board that takes in 12V and GND and has connections for the ECU, PLX in, PLX out, and Innovate in.

But good news is that we have progress.

Thanks guys, I've designed a board to generate the 8V and 3.3V supply, and have connectors on there to connect the PLX gauge to the ECU and with inputs for the PLX wideband or Innovate wideband. Eventually I want to be able to read from the Innovate wideband and EGT, and still be able to output to the PLX.

I've ordered those boards, so I should have those in a week or so. Once I have those I can finish it off.

Andy,

That's great news! I really appreciate the time you're putting into this project. I think my personal choice is going to be using the PLX gauge along with the Innovate wideband.
Is this board you have designed going to be sold as a module or add-on? Or would it be something that a DIY person would be able to make?

Same here. I will be using the Innovative LC1 with TC4 outputting to the PLX.

Very excited for this!

Being able to input the Innovative sensors and output to the PLX would be awesome. I feel the Innovative wideband is superior, especially with the self check function and calibration. I moved that direction for this reason.

Sent from Rx7Club App..... Yes, I'm addicted.

I'm looking forward to loosing the last of my PLX sensors. Less clutter in the car and the engine bay. Also, the display will relate to exactly to what the ECU is seeing and not something close.

I'm hoping to run the LC-1 with a PLX display as well.

Definitely excited!

I hear that. It has always been frustrating in the past to look at 3 different boost readings all be off from each other. Boost controller, ECU, and boost gauge all read off at some point. Of course, the MAP is what mattered, but it just got anoying.

Since my engine bay revamp I ditched all of my gauges. I looked forward to a single display, center column, to show the important metrics I needed. No more looking at the dash, A-pillar or Commander to gather the data. One gauge to rule them all.

I will be installing my DM-100 with the board this weekend. I will post pics and some info when complete.
