Mounting Select FD ECU

I figured I would start a thread to see how everyone was physically mounting their ECU's. As I am getting close to buttoning everything up, I am looking at solutions.

I mounted mine in the stock ecu location, I removed the bottom bracket and was able to bolt the Adaptronic using one of the bolts that held the bracket in place.

I did the same. I folded the lower brackets down, and enlarged the whole on the upper front bracket so it would bolt with the existing blower bracket. It fits snug towards the front. I will likely put some 3M double sided tape along the bottom to help hold it secure.

Hoping to get it ready around the end of June. Things are coming together slowly. My wire tuck absorbed alot of time. I should have everything sorted by the time my Vmount arrived. I sent it back to RE for their newest upgrade. Still plenty to do...

With the wiring done and my ECU mounted, I can start doing preliminary tests (Aux outputs). I finally tested my fuel system today with zero leaks the first try! Gotta love the FFE rails. A far cry from my first experiences with the KGs.

Sent from Rx7Club App..... Yes, I'm addicted.

Did the same and was able to line the top mounting hole up with a thick mass of wires. I zip tied to these. It's very stable.

I had some time to make the mounting more solid. I made two strips of aluminum and used the two factory screw holes to mount them up. They hold the ECU very secure. I feel much better about it during street driving and bumpy roads.

Having some issues with this guys, trying to mount mine up, but there's a black box that connected to the old metal ecu brackets (The top one) what did you guys do with the black box? also mine wont seem to fit with the "tabs" that are on the adaptronics unit itself. I'll post pictures later, any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Hi sleepydogz,

Are you looking for a pinout document? Here's the one for the S6 Select plug-in ECU - Installation Guide: RX7 S6 FD Plugin ECU - It's the updated one and it's a bit big so I can't post it here. But the updated document will be available on the next software/firmware update.

Thanks.

Mine looks similar to XLR8. We mounted the ECU to a plate of aluminum and then put it on a hinge with a "custom" tab at the top that snaps the ECU up into place. The back side of the plate has all of the vacuum lines and the Mac boost solenoid. I cut a small oval out of the front of the plastic so I can still view the ECU lights and get to the front USB port for tuning. Worked out well.
