Failing fuel pump driver?

question for all you folks with more experience on these ecus. I have an emod011 in my fd and everything works except for the fuel pump control. I can start the car and drive around for a while and then the circuit opening relay will shut down. the fuel pump will work if i jump the circuit opening relay in the diagnostic connector, bypassing the ecu control and not shut down. with my meter probing pin 1t and ground I can watch the fuel pump driver in the ecu shut down with the engine running. I hope this is something simple that I am overlooking but I suspect that the driver in the ecu is bad and flaking out once things get warm. I would appreciate any insight you folks have on this matter before I try to find another ecu.
