Fuel pump woes.

Ok, I have an '82 with an '88 13B swaped in. Pump was working fine while i was trying to unflood, then got the car running. A few days ago I tried to start the car up for my dad, fuel pump won't turn on. I've checked the fuse, and its fine. I also have a relay wired into the fuel pump system to provide switched power for the 13B's ECU. This relay is no longer working either. As far as I can tell from reading schematics, the 82 doesn't have a fuel pump relay. What could have went out on me? I read something while searching about the trailing coil providing power for the pump or something?

First check if the wires going to the pump have at least 11-12v. If they do when the key is turned on, then the pump is probably dead. Where do you have the signal power coming from to your relay? Is the relay wired between the ign and ecu, or the ecu to the pump? If the relay gives the pump its power or its ground(depending on how you wired it) then if the wires going to the pump have no voltage or ground, then either the relay does not work, or its signal is not good, or it may not be grounded correctly. This is all assuming that the relay gives the fuel pump its voltage or its ground. If the relay is doing this for the ecu, and the ecu is sending voltage to the pump, and there is no voltage getting to the pump, then either the ecu is not working properly ( it may need some other signal in order to send voltage to the pump, i.e. the ignitor idea) or the relay giving the ecu its voltage or ground signal(not sure) is not working. Of course, if the pump gets voltage and ground, then it is the culprit.
