It should be identical to the rx7fashion, less polished pipes. If I remember correctly they both use the Apxi GT-R core.

It's the same as the RX7fashion IC except the piping on the RX7fashion one is bigger I believe.

Anyways, I thought XS doesn't sell this kit anymore. At least it's not listed on their website for sale so I thought it was discontinued

I'm Really happy w/it and I'm glad that not a whole lot of people have it. I just wish I could have polished it before I installed it.

^ Yeah, isn't that the regular Apexi FMIC?

Here is 2manyticket's XS FMIC. It looks exactly like the rx7fashion to me.

XS does not make their FMIC for the FD anymore. I talked with them today.

Holy hell, add another violent right angle in there! It can only help flow and reduce turbulence in the intake tract

Maybe theres a reason they don't make it anymore?

I have always thought you reduce the angle of turns in intake piping whenever you can. Velocity is just as important as mass. The way that IC looks is that flow will go in , bounce off the wall immediately, causing reversion, which will slow down and upset the flow. Then after it goes through the IC core (if it will even utilize the entire core efficiently due to the entry spot) it bounces off the other wall and is expected to do ANOTHER 180 to go up to the throttle body.... Seems pointless and inefficient, solely designed for mounting/ease of plumbing..has anyone ever tested this intercooler versus other models? How is velocity in and out of the core? Unless those end tanks are contoured inside (and even then) it seems like a poor design IMHO. Im sure the core is efficient, but those end tanks are silly.

And I understand you want a little turbulence, or tumbling of the air as it goes into the engine - it helps homologate the air fuel mixture more thoroughly through the expansion chamber. But thats also being taken care of by the 90 degree bend from the LIM/ENGINE and the rough casting of the LIM internal structure.
