Thumbs down Wrecked My Car..Pics Inside..Need Your Opinion..

Hey Guys,

Well I wrecked my baby...1994 Silver with the red interior...The car only has 66,XXX miles on it...I just got done dumping soooo much money under the hood...It makes me sick to look at these pics...To make a long story short on how I wrecked, I hit a pole...

Im trying to decide wheither or not I should buy it back from the insurance company or if I should just sell it as is..The car is totalled for sure...Here is my list of mods...

1) Spec 2 clutch w/ ACT Prolite Flywheel
2) Turbonetic T-70 single turbo with .96 hotside
3) XS Manifold w/ Tial 44mm
4) Godspeed V-mount Intercooler
5) 1600cc Secondaries with Rx7store fuel rail
6) TurboXs RFL Bov
7) HKS Turbo Timer
8) Apex Power Fc
9) Blitz NuroSpec Exhaust w 3in downpipe
10) Rx7store Midpipe
11) Greddy Pully kit
12) H&R Springs
13) Polished wheels
14) Just put brand new brakes all the way around..
15) And a few other mods...But those are the important mods at the moment

So 2 of the pics below are from my cell phone...Thats why the quality is so poor..But the other pics are with the car jacked up in the air with the bumper off...I am just trying to decide wheither or not I wanna buy it back and part the car out...Or buy it back and get it all fixed?!? What do you guys think??? Would the car be worth fixing? Do you guys think the car will ever be the same? What would you guys do?

Sorry for the long post...I am just trying to vent...I wanna kick my own *** for wrecking Let me know what you guys think I should do..

Thanks guys,
Shawn

If the frames not bent... I'd say keep it and repair it. If it is bent then get an estimate to fix it and then decide. Good luck on what ever you decide.

The frame is not bent..

I was doing 50mph when I hit the sign..All airbags are still good to go

The roof of the car doesnt have a scratch on it...The windsheild just looks terrible...As far as mexicans go...We have a ton in Oklahoma...

Yea it definately could have been worse...

What would I do? I don't run into poles at 50 mph, so I have no idea. What exactly happened man?

Hmmm... Buy it back and fix it... Or part it, don't let them just scrap the thing.

Of course on the other hand, I could have 1 of 76 in Oklahoma if you don't buy it back... lol

Ok Ok...So here is the story...I was saving a 3 year old from a burning building while carrying my grandmother across my back because she had a flat on her wheelchair..

Now the true story...I was going through an intersection...(The Speed limit was 45!!) I wasnt very familiar with the intersection plus it was dark...(Those are the best excuses I can come up with..lol..) The intersection went from 2 lane to one lane...I just so happened to be in the right lane and there also just so happend to be a ZO6 vette next to me..LOL...Needless to say I hit the ditch spun around a few times and hit a pole...The ZO6 laughed and took off!!!

Yea I feel dumb as hell...But I guess you live and you learn...And I definately learned..

It doesn't look that bad at all, with a new hood, windshild, and front bumper it looks like you'd be in good shape. What was the Ins. reason for totaling it? I wouldn't be able to just walk away from it i'd try and save her.

If you part it out I would be interested in your battery. I could take it off your hands 50$ so it doesn't sit for a few months.

if i were you i would buy it back, get an estimate of what it would take to fix it, then compare that cost with the cost of buying an FD shell. If the shell is cheaper, swap everything over. it looks like everyhting in the engine bay is unharmed, except for the intercooler. hell see if the IC still holds pressure, it doesnt look too bad actually

Well, from looking at the pics I have to say its fixable. (BTW, Im a collision damage repairer and own my own shop)

The biggest thing is that your bags are still intact, mind you if you hit the pole at 50mph and they didn't go off then they aren't functioning.

The only snag would be surrounding the rules of your area as far as rebuilt/salvage vehicles go. I know here in Ont. Canada you may as well kiss it good bye due to the large number of paper work/proof of purchase/proof of repair/proof of alignment hoops I need to jump through to write a structual saftey. But if you are still on the old system down there, get it back and fix it.

Im not going to go into quoting really because you ALWAYS need to see the car especially in the case of a collison. But that one really isn't too bad, and being where you are there is more than likely MANY FD's for scavenging so you're probably in good shape.

Best of luck.

so the Z06 was next to you...ie the lane that didn't end. Are you sure you weren't in a **** measuring contest and failed to notice you couldn't pass thru this intersection??? No wonder he laughed and kept driving.

BTW, there is nothing V-mount about your IC...its a SMIC with no duct and your TIAL WG looks like an HKS knockoff

looks like the pole smashed between the two sensors in the front.

Is there a reason you don't have your birthday listed in your profile? How old are you?

It looks like you got what you deserved.....sounds like you were driving like a jackass, and you don't really seem too upset about what happened. If I did that to my FD I would most likely be vomitting.

You get three thumbs down from me.
