WOT EGT temp?
ok at WOT what temp. in celsius should i be running?
my egt probe is located i think on the turbo or somewhere around that i know its not on the dp for sure. my mechanic told me it should be 900degrees at WOT but never hit over 1000. that right?

However, even an inch difference in the location of the probe can make a huge difference in the readings...

I wouldnt want more than 900C. Thats right at 1650F and depending on how much boost you run its pushing the limit in my humble opinion. Like mentioned before it also depends on where the sensor is. If you mounted the sensor in the dp past the turbo 900C might be too hot. If its mounted in the exhaust manifold before the turbo your prob ok especially if you running 10-12psi of boost. If your running over 12psi and you sensor is in the dp you might be a little to hot for comfort. There are other things besides rich/lean that affect the temp though. You timing could be too retarded and that will raise your egt's. If you KNOW your a/f is where it needs to be then you could adjust timing to change egt's.
