woot, 5th gear snychro fixed

So i started today at about 1:30 pm. Had to pull the trans from the motor(already outta car) and then replace the 5th gear synchro. Got it done about a half hour ago, so a total time of 4 hours approximately. Total pain in the ***.

If anyone ever needs this done to their car, pay shipping both ways, provide parts, and $300 bucks and ill do it. Tranny specialists quoted me 700 to do it if i brought them just the trans so its a good deal.

When shipping a tranny costs $150, I'm not sure how that's going to work.

FYI if you're near central PA I can do it too.

I just had a 5speed swap done, 1st and 2nd seem to be "tight" getting in, 3rd to 5 slip in real smooth though. Has anyone had this problem? Tranny's only about 8 days old, but if this is going to be a problem i would like to rectify it sooner than later.

If you feel it when the clutch is in and the car isn't moving, then either the clutch slider or shift rod aren't sliding as smoothly as before. Both will improve over time.

As always, it pays to live near Dave.

Good news, Dave...Rich called me last night. My car is running! Now I just need to take care of the suspension interior and **** ugly exterior and it'll be good to go. I'm planning on running at Pocono this year if you're interested in getting a group together.
