Without air filter?

Hi all.
I have a question:
My stock air filter is in the worst condition, full covered by dirt. Because of the turbo don't work well. Not enough air blow through air filter. In 2 days is Drag Compitition. I cann't get new filter for this time. I want to participate in the drag competition. Can I participate without air filter in my stock air box? Will I have any problem in such case?

whell if you have the stock air box.. you could but you run a risk of a decent size rock or any object to be sucked in and possible damage the turbo

Why dont you try cleaning the filter a little? Get a brush or something and try to get some dirt out of it.

I haven't had a stock air filter in a long time, so I may be wrong.

However, I think the stock filter is paper or something similar. It would be damaged by washing in water, or almost anything else. Your best bet is to use a brush and a vacuum cleaner to get off most of the dirt.

if its the stock air filter its made of paper, just knock it around a little and use a dry paintbrush or something like a one. you can even use compressed air to clean out a stocker air filter

Caution

As mentioned above:

DO NOT RUN WITHOUT AN AIR FILTER.

You risk damage to the turbos and the engine internals!

Try to buy a K&N replacement filter. If it is available there, it will replace the stock filter, and will flow more air.

I have a new stock filter that I could ship to you, but it will be expensive since you are in Europe.

On a serious note, you could be ok, you could get a rock in as others have said.

Is it worth it to run no filter? Hell no. If you get a rock into your intake system, it is going to smash the turbo blades, which are then possibly going to continue along into your engine, and then you could destroy your whole engine.

Not worth it at all, imo.

If you try to clean out the stock filter run water from the clean side forward. Same if you're using compressed air. You don't want to bury the dirt deeper into the filter.

The stock filter isn't supposed to be reusable but if you've want to run and can't get a new filter, then these are your options.

why CAN'T you get a filter?!?! Just go to the closest auto parts store and grab a replacement. A stock replacement will be like $20 or so. Or you could upgrade to a K&N filter for the stock box for about $40. Why risk it?

While you are at the store you should also by some new plugs and wires and change your oil too. I donj't know why people let their filters and other easy to replace parts get so bad.
