For the most part, a '94 manual will get you want you need. However, for a limited time, I am hosting the older '93 version:

It's not going away in a few days. But when/if I sell my RX-7 and leave the forum, it might not still be hosted if someone searches and finds this thread a year or two from now.

just download it and keep it on your computer until you can print it off... i would highly recomend NOT doing it on your home printer unless you have a lazer printer, it would be just as cheap to take it into kinkos or something and print it off there...

Well, I've been thinking about it for some time. I thought about picking up an Exige, but my wife would honestly kill me if I had $100k+ wrapped up in cars. So I'd also have to get rid of the M3 and find a cheaper daily driver.

I'm not ready to make that move this year, but it may come in a year or so.

 

Don't do it, man. There are about half a dozen (if that) old timers on this board that have a clue at all. We need their expertise.

 

The Exige is defintely a neat-looking car, but with a Toyota 4-banger only putting out 190 hp, I don't know if I would be happy with that for the money spent. It's definitely a far cry from a rotary. On the other hand, the RX-7 market will dry up eventually, save the collector types and a few other enthusiasts groups, but in the end it's all a matter of perspective. For me, the Z06 is looking very tempting.

I'm looking at a straight track car (not a weekend/track car). While 190hp isn't much, it's fairly peppy for those little cars. However, the bigger engines do start leaving you down the longer straights but you always catch them in the turns.

If I wanted a Vette, I would actually get a C5 non-Z06 hardtop (hard to find) and turn it into a track car. However, I would do a mid-90's NSX for a track car before that.

I'm into handling more than just raw power. With road racing, it's not necessarily how fast of a car you can put on the track, but how well you can get what you brought around the track.

 

those are all reasons i love FD's, they aren't super high HP freaks or anything, and they handle like a dream... exige's are pretty hardcore though, theres one that auto-x's in my region and he basically dominates everyone, he's an incredible driver though, watching him go around the track it doesn't even look like he's trying...

 

I understand. The Exige looks like the perfect car for that. I never got into tracking that serious, although I probably should. My RX-7 was more of a weekend / road racing car. I like different cars for different reasons though. For instance, I rode in a friend's car tonight. A 1965 Ford Galaxy with a 390 bored 30 over (396 cubes) with flame throwers. It's not a fast car (very heavy), but it sure was fun to cruise in and the engine rumbles pretty good. It's fun to get the 1000 diferent reactions from people in a car like that. That's how I am though. I'll go from an old hot rod, to a sports car, to a beater with a stop sign glued to the roof.
