Wire broke off in the ECU plug

I have a wire that broke off and I don't have any wire sticking out of the plug to fix it. Does anyone know where I can get some of those tabs that go into the plug to replace the broken one? And how can I remove the old tab with the old wire in it? Its one of the bigger ones on the ends BTW, not the smaller ones in the middle.

Its the plug that goes into the ECU, not the ECU itself.

Well so all you need is something metal to make that connection, can you take a pic of it so we can see how bad it is?

I would say make something to secure that connection, and in the mean time find a new connection.

REAL easy to fix.

First off, go to the junkyard. Find most any early-mid '90s Mazda and dig down to the ECU. You should see the same ECU plugs. Snip off a couple, they'll probably let you have them free.

Get them home and figure out how to back the pins out of the connector. It's not hard, there's a "flap" on the wire side of the connector that pops out, then you get a thin, stiff tool like a needle and get it in there to release the connector. When you hit the connector release just right the pin will slide right out.

Slide out the bad pin from your connector, cut the wire back a bit and solder the new wire end on and slip into the connector till it locks. Done.

That's what I thought, just didn't know I can get the tabs from any similar year Mazda. Thank you very much Dale Clark.

If the engine to ecu harnes is the original, then do not fix.
Replace with the newer upgraded version.

^ Unless you plan to go with a standalone other than a Power FC .

Depinning the harness is easy. A small screwdriver set helps.
