i have loose wire connector near the tranny oil check dip stick its a single wire i thing and i was reading some pics which gave me the idea that this is the oxygensensor connector. any ideas??? and where to connect it and what effects do i suffer if it is disconnected

 

It is not the O2 sensor. That is a single wire connector. The one pictured looks to be the connector for the idle speed control solenoid. The ISC is located on the backside of the UIM. So that wire would not get connected until the UIM is reinstalled. You can varify this by holding the UIM in close proximity over the engine and testing the ISC connection.

 

^^In studying the picture closer, it looks like the ISC connector is the white one just to the left of your circle, making the black one circled the thermal sensor on the under side of the UIM.

 

Its not the ISC because that is a white connector, If the wires that are going into in brown/green then it is the AIT (air intake temp). I believe it is the AIT, but double check the wiring color, or better yet look at a engine harness schemetic.

 

Idle control is white. Looks like the air intake temp sensor as said above.

Now you have the O2 sensor connector! A wire runs from the O2 sensor on the exhaust header (down pipe) that is of sufficient length to reach around to the connector you have in your hand.

 

any pictures ?? i think the the wire broke mid way from the exaust so where is the sensor located and will attaching this help the car in anyway ??

 

The O2 sensor is on the upper portion of the downpipe (maybe 12in from the turbo manifold) and it protrudes upward out of the dp. If you are still running a stock ECU then YES it needs it to adjust aif/fuel ratio. If you are running an aftermarket stand alone (Apexi Power Commander or Haltech) then no it wont really help. It is better to install an aftermarket wideband O2 sensor further down the exhaust (approx 36in from the turbo manifold).

 

^ power fc still uses the 02 sensor! even if you use a wideband its still smart to keep it in as it helps with narrowband and idle situations.
