Combination switch (turn signal & wiper switch). Around $300 from the dealer.

Yes..............

The combination switch also has the clockspring incorporated in it (horn, airbag & cruise connections). One switch does not control all the fuctions, but all the fuctions are contained in one unit. Hence the name

That "clicking" sound is probably arcing from a poor electrical contact. Since the intermediate wiper relay (thing that makes noise) is located under the dash, not in the steering column

You might as well try & fix it by spraying contact cleaner in it while cycling the stack up & down. Can't hurt. Didn't help mine any, but you never know.

Im not sure about RX7's, since ive never owned one, but whenever the wipers quit working on my honda or any of the other cars i have i look at the point where the linkage attatches to the motor. sometimes the linkage pops off. its definitely worth a look though.

Also, check the wiring and connectors that go to the wiper motor.

ok, i dont think its the combination switch, i am getting signal to the wiper wiring harness, with a test light, different wires would light up with diffrent wiper speeds.... this brings me to a conclusion that the motor is blown

i hate blown motors.. this would by my 3rd one in this car
