Will Not Start

I have a '94 touring with only 57k on it -- it runs excellent, but after a trip to Atlanta (2 hours highway) I parked it and now it won't start. I get a solid 'click' but nothing else. It doesn't turn over it just 'clicks' (The battery is charged) I have no idea what happened. Would someone have any ideas what the problem may be -- now I can fix it?? Help!

letrx7: funny your the second person to mention that -- first thing in the morning I will gently do it! A friend did the same thing, heard a low click sound and that was it -- the car started. What's the going cost for a new starter -- average price?

I'm having a similar problem ... the hammer tap did work, but only for a while in my case.

One suggestion, take your starter off and have it tested before you buy a new one. I didn't do that (I was 100% certian it was the issue) ... $150 later and I still have the same problem and two good starters. I took them both to Autozone and had them tested once I realized I was still having the problem.

My problem, I'm only getting 4 Volts to the starter on START. My thread:

Beleive it or not the hammer tap trick worked. Got it running like always -- what a beauty! But, at 11:00 in a dark parking lot, hammering on the starter while the MS waits is not that cool. So, I'm still reading what's being posted here -- hope more comes in -- and if I come across a sure fix I will post it.
