Will not accel after engine swap
First time doing automatic swap, will never do it again. Here is my problem, the car will not accel past about 20 mph or so. before ever putting the car in gear in will rev just fine. After putting in gear and trying to drive it stumbles without clearing out. After taking it out of gear, it will stumble while not in gear. I will then turn the ignition off, and it will restart without stumble. I had checked the ignition, and changed plugs and wires, and all coils are firing. I had also put it in gear while on jack stands, and no stumble. It will do it under a load. I am thinking injector, or tranny related. Any help guys?
from what you've said, it'd have to be tranny related.
i'm not familiar with auto engine swaps... or the auto tranny fullstop... but it sounds like a dodgy/unplugged sensor or plug on your transmission.
any engine codes?

I just did an engine swap, I did not mess with the tranny at all. I was just messing with it, and it will intermintenly do it. Once it starts bogging, I will shut off the ignition, and then it will be fine. I am getting it to bog with it not in gear now every once and wile. It seems to happen right about 3500 to 3800 rpm's.
3500-3800 is airpump and/or secondary turbo priming territory... can't see why they'd bog down though (airpump may make it lumpy but not really bog down).
one thing i could see is a poor ground somewhere on the engine... as the load becomes higher (secondary solenoids and the like) you may be finding that the ground isn't conduction completely... leading to a severe hesitation.
have you reset the ECU to clear codes?
what is code 40 again?

I fixed it. Code 40 is purge, not to worried about it. I found the fuel strainer, and fuel filter clogged with crap from the fuel tank from sitting for so long. Runs like a champ now. Thanks for all of your help.
