Hello,
I just bought my second 3rd gen a few weeks ago and this is my first post to this forum (after reading for hours on end ). I was forced to sell my first 3rd gen about 2 yrs ago. It had the M2 stage 2 kit (intake, ECU, catback, and DP).
I just bought another 3rd gen w/ suspension and brakes set up, but all it has HP wise is a catback. Although the car runs an appropriate boost pattern, it feels suffocated compared to what I'm used to so I'm looking to upgrade soon.
My question is this: the car has a Turbo Tuff catback (I haven't heard much about these, but it appears to be a 3" mandrel bent stainless exhaust) and I have a M2 DP on order. If I also get the Rotary Extreme V-mount IC/radiator setup w/ their cold air intake and an appropriately tuned Apexi PFC, will I need larger injectors and/or fuel pump? Also, assuming my stock clutch is in good shape, will it be able to handle the power?

stock clutch may give out on you. Go ahead and upgrade that. You probably won't NEED to upgrade the injectors, but if your looking to get more power later, it's best to get big while you have it. The fuel pump is a cheap upgrade, and much easier to install than a DP or injectors. I would pick up a walboro just to be on the safe side.

If you want better reliability/safety, you will need to upgrade your injectors when your fuel injector duty cycles are exceeding 85%. Typically, this occurs when running 13-14 psi of boost or higher. If you stay below 80-85% duty cycles, you should be fine with the stock injectors.

"Duty cycle" is new to me so I did some searching on the forum. Apparantly I can control this through the PFC, correct? I also noticed during this search that a lot of people seem to purchase the Profec-B to limit their boost from going too high... this can't be done w/ the PFC?

I've heard the opposite about the Power FC. While many do say that it can control boost, I've heard others say that it really doesn't control it very well. I got the Profec B, and plan on getting the PFC asap. They can be used together. And as GoodFella said, much easier to turn a dial than to navigate menus.

Thanks again for the info. It seems there are mixed opinions as to how good a job the PFC does for controlling boost. My first stage of horsepower mods will be catback/dp/intake/PFC. For now I shouldn't have to worry about limiting boost, but once I step up to an intercooler sometime down the road, I'll have plenty of time to do some more homework on this.
