Wierd problem, car not starting
I've let the car sit for 2 weeks, and it wouldnt start, so I changed the battery and in started first go.
Now I went over to start the car again today, after letting it sit for about a day or two, it wont start. It turns over, but not starting. What steps should I be taking to check whether its not an electrical problem again ?
any input would be great,
thanks

well, if it was the starter cut relay, clutch switch, or battery ground, it wouldn't turn over at all.
does it turn over slowly, or normally? slowly would be indicative of a drained battery. something may be draining the battery.
if it turns over normally, ??? engine flooded???

yeah engine cranks normal speed, just not starting. I did start the car in the morning to move it out of the way, then shut it straight off. is this all it take to flood these engines ?

tried searching but does anyone know if the fd3s cuts fuel when the accelerator is fully depressed? is removing the spark plugs mandatory when deflooding ? can I just get away with pulling the EGI fuse, crank, then when it feels like starting replace fuse and start??

i think it does cut fuel at wot when starting, but im not sure, ive gotten away with just a fuel cut and cranking the hell out of it, but i was in a huge rush, and wouldn't recommend it if you have a few minutes to pull the plugs and EGI fuse. probably knocked a few years of the starter by doing it too.

1st try to de-flood the engine, and try to start it again. Just do a search on here of what the procedure is, it's simple.
If de-flood doesn't work, jump the TEN-GND in the diagnostic port and then try starting the car again. You should hear right away the fuel pump turning on when you jump those ports. If the car turns on, then your problem should be the relays.
If you don't hear the fuel pump turn on or the car didn't start then your fuel pump connections or the fuel pump itself could be faulty, or something else all together.

O, pulled the fuse out this morning, cranked it 10seconds for about 4 or times with around 5 to 10 seconds intervals, put the fuse back in, then tried starting it, sounded like its going to start like spluttering, then I think its flooding again probably need to pull the plugs out, and deflood then replace plugs
