Why is there a bolt in there?
Snooping around the engine compartment of my
recently acquired 93, and I noticed something that
I have no idea what it is or why it's like this but I'm
sure there is a reason.
Mine is a manual trans, but up against the fire wall,
where if this car was an automatic and the tranny dip
stick would be, there is a hose with a bolt in it and a
hose clamp around it.
Does it have anything to do with the turbo simplification
by chance? It is right here.......

The arrow could be pointing to any one of many different hoses. A better picture would help a lot.
I'l take a guess and say that it is plugging the AWS (accelerated warmup system, to get the pre-cat hot quickly to combat cold start emissions). This would be a somewhat large hose (1/2" or 5/8" ID, IIRC).

I wasn't actually worried as it is obviously serving a purpose....just was curious so I can better understand what's
going on under the hood.
Sorry for the quality of the photos...best I can do for now.
Car lacks the aws...it just idles at normally rpms on startup....doesn't jump to 3k at all, atleast I am assuming it doesn't have it because of this.
