No touring in 94 & 95 ???

You mean they were only called PEP or PEG....then what seperated them because I have one 94 with sunroof, leather, non-bose system, and cruise. The other 94 has moonroof, leather, foglamps, rear wiper, cruise, and Bose system. So which is the PEP and which is the PEG. ?????

you sure there was no touring? i know they came out with the pep or peg or whatever...but i thought those were just 'almost touring' cars. and then there still was touring like mine, bose, glass sunroof, fog lights, cruise, leather, etc... oh well its all the same

If you do not have a Bose system in your car, you are lucky. I hate mine. It is impossible to expand on and sounds ok at best. Bose has a much better marketing department than sound research department.

I'm not sure about touring in 95 models, I've only seen a couple of 95 models so I can't be sure.

In 94 they definitely had Touring (bose, foglamps, rear wiper, etc.) Also they had Peg/Pep, which is leather, metal sunroof, NO bose, NO wiper or foglamps.

I don't think there is any difference between PEP and PEG but I'm not for certain.

You can still add one

Look for a used CD player. It will plug into the back of the stock radio. You just pull the clear plastic plug on the back of the radio.
If you get a CD player that skips really bad you can send it to Panisonic & they will rebuild it for $225

I agree. The CD Player went out completely (it even ate one of my CDs), the tape player doesn't work, I've had to replace the ***** once already, the center speaker blew (I replaced it, but it's blown again..I don't even turn it up that loud), and the left speaker keeps going out at random. I'm going to have to strip out the system completely, which also means I'll have to find a rear hatch cover. I envy the non-Bose owners...

The Ctr spker BLOWING is a symptom of a BAD center amp. Check/Replace the amp before replacing the spkr.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I'm going to completely get rid of the bose system (new speakers, etc.), so I probably won't need it anyway. I already snagged a Clarion CD player & an amp. Now I just need to purchase new speakers, possibly a sub, and rear speaker mounts (where would one get these?) to replace the pockets.

my bose sounds awesome (i'm not an audio guru) but all the CD player is good for is holding a cd for 2 seconds before it spits it back out. what's worse? i have a ten disk cd changer laying around i could put in it. why is that bad you ask? because its one of those pos sony RF craptacular changers. the kind that radio stations interfere with...guy i bought my last rx7 put it in and i pulled it before the insurance took it. anyone want it?

Mister7:

To get the rear speaker mounts you'll have to go to a junkyard or maybe one of the main rx-7 yards will sell them separately- you can't buy them new that way. I'm in the same boat and tried to buy them from the dealer but they only come with the speakers attached and were way expensive (as always). Then there's the problem of the quarterpanels needing to be changed or modified.

I wish I would have waited longer until I'd found a non-touring model to buy. I hate the Bose system and don't like the sunroof.
