Why greddy elbow?

Every upgraded fd ive seen with polished parts has that greddy elbow, whats wrong with polishing the stock one? im gonna attempt this later this week.

Is there a reason people dont do this that i should know?

You aren't the first. There was a thread about year ago of someone actually trying to sand it and was wondering why it wasn't getting any better.

It is indeed a good thing that you didn't start sanding it yet. I do wish that people would start using other elbows. But that is just because I have a personal problem with GReddy. I refuse to use anything that they make. That's just a me thing though so don't be mistaken. If you want a polished elbow get the GReddy or get a better one like the RE unit or the one from FEED. Just my opinion though. Laterz.

The only one that I can find right now are the ones from PanSpeed. But check with Jason at www.jt-imports.com He can get you anything that you could possibly want. I have a few friends stationed in Japan, that's where I get most all of my parts like that. But Jason is a GREAT source for JDM direct parts. Best of luck to you.

Not only is the greddy one metal, it's shorter for custom ic piping (greddy kits fit it) but it also has a bigger inlet for more air.

well, i polished my uim today, and all i wanna say is ****. that was Almost as bad as the vaccuum hose job. It looks really perty but could use some more lovin. I figure when i have the right tools ill finish the job professional style.

all i had was a 5 inch drill sanding disk (various grits) and a dremol grinding stone (no dremol, used it in the drill)

took about 6 hours and i didnt even do the underside
