I thought these remapped ecu's were limited to 12 lbs of boost. I have full exhaust and IC mods.

A remapped ECU does not control boost just as a stock ECU does not. The modification is to control fuel, not boost.

M2 does not design their chips for use with a midpipe.

In any case, it's likely that you are creeping to 15 psi because of the midpipe. If that's the case, NO boost control is going to fix the problem. You'll need to either port the wastegate or add restriction back into the exhaust.

I have an M2 ecu, and I can also verify that it does not control boost. There are a number of boost controllers that do a good job. I am a cheap bastard, and I use a $6 Home Depot needle valve. It works very well. If you want to spend some money on an electronic boost controller, the Profec B seems to be very popular.

OK, thanks for the help!!

Do you think that hi-flow, RB dual catback, y pipe, greddy smic, m2 intake and home depot boost controller will be then be safe. (I would prefer to limit boost to no more than 12 lbs).

I would prefer not purchasing electronic boost controller, but if I should well then I will...??

If money is an issue, definitely go with the HD boost controller. It works well for me. If you don't like it, you can always remove it. Be sure to keep the old hose (with the pills in it) when/if you install the HD controller.

Do not install the prespool controller.

Quick n00b question: With the boost controller installed, do you still see a 10-8-10 pattern as the turbos spool?

Thanks,
Sonny

Yes, you do. (if you set it so, or 12-8-12 for that matter)

Hey Adam,

Why wouldn't you want to intall a prespool controller as well? If been doing analysis and design work all day so forgive me if I'm missing the obvious.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the info. I'm still studying how the spooling occurs on the stock sequential setup. The write-up on Robinette's site is excellent!

I installed the single HD controller, and got a 12-8-12 boost pattern. That was pretty good, but I thought I would try to get the transition up to 10 or 11, so I installed the prespool valve. I tried for over a month to get the right boost pattern. It never happened. It didn't matter what I did, or how I adjusted them. I was never even able to get it to 12-8-12 with the prespool controller. I think the problem was the length of the hose. Anyway, the best thing I ever did was to remove it. Seriously, that is the best thing I have ever done for my car.

I left the pills in the line. I believe that there are two of them.
