Talking Who whoulda thunk it...I passed emissions!

So I plan on getting tested today just to see how bad I'm going to fail before I dump in the alcohol. I get the "no way you're going to pass" shpiel from an undisclosed person and kinda shrug it off. I had all emissions crap still on with my mods below except I had a high flow cat on...in the wrong direction.

So I get to the station and wait for about 5-10 min before I get in. I didn't know that you could do this, but I was given the option to sit in the pass seat. Of course I'm going to say yes. So I get on the drum and the dude kills it. For got to tell him about the grabby clutch. Start again and after about 30 seconds, wouldn't you know it, I passed!! I'm like, BS, there's no way!

Ill standards for '93 are

HC .150
CO .900

Skin 'o my teeth here...I got a .148 and .836 respectively without using anything....so I went back to a-spec and picked up a mid pipe.

Oh yeah!

They let you run it with your intake still on or did you put the stock one back on? My friend tried to run his car with an intake and they wouldn't let him run it, man I hate Cali sometimes 'cuse they are so **** with everything over here.

You lucky bastard.
I set off all kinds of alarms when I tested mine. Hell, I messed up the machine my readings were so screwed up.
I have to pass emmissions this year. I'm a little nervous.

I know. I used to live in CA for a couple of years, but since I was in the military, I couldn't care less about the emissions crap out there. As soon as I bought my f-bird, out came all the emissions crap I could find.

Thanks all. I'm thinking that even if I did fail, it probably wouldn't have been by much. Reason I did was to see how big of a margin it was so I could use that as a guide for dumping in the alcohol. I didn't want to risk putting it in and blowing my motor, so I would start with a really low mix to get me to eek by. The tester was about my age, maybe a little younger. I didn't even have to tell him to stay off boost; he just did it automatically. Hell, he never even got outta vaccum.
