Radiator coolant leak! I think.

I hit the underside of my car going over a weird bump. Liquid started FLOWING out from a plastic tank at the front of the car, on the passenger's side. From under the hood, I saw that the cap of the plastic tank said Radiator coolant. So common sense would tell me that the car is leaking radiator coolant.

How do I replace this plastic tank? Do i have to order it and go to a Rotary shop to have it replaced? I know I could get a whole new aftermarket radiator but my car is under extended waranty, so i can't change anything on it.

I drove about 10 miles home very very slowly after I caught the leak. The temp gauge didn't go above the 9 o'clock level so I think the car didn't overheat. Is the car still safe to drive? Can any mechanic replace the tank? Please advice. Thanks.

DO NOT DRIVE IT WITH LEAKING COOLANT

Get a replacement like a Koyo, it shouldn't void your warranty as it actually makes the car run much cooler.

Sounds more like the coolant overflow tank. You can get it from your local dealer or mazdaformance.com is probably cheaper. Will be a pain to replace but it isnt rotary specific so any mechanic that you trust should be able to do it.
Witha leaky overflow it is probably safe to drive, some cars dont even have overflows and just overflow onto the ground. But but I would still fix it ASAP.

Yeah, I am with Tom on this one. It doesnt sound like you cracked your radiator but the overflow tank might have bit the dust. Lets not jump to conclusions Kyle. Get things checked out and replace what needs replacing. If it happens to be the radiator, which I doubt then it would be a good time to upgrade it to a Koyo or Fluidyne like Kyle stated. Good luck.

Of course, with a non-existant overflow, you will be sucking air into your coolant system when you shut down.... get it replaced!
